Not great. Productive came in plastic bag and looked used. The metal stem appears as it was already used and heated. The tips were re-packed and all falling out. Packaging was wrapped in tape. The wood burning pen was just loose in a bag. Everything works but still… Would not buy again.

The pen is apiece of garbage. The heating element connects to the handle with plastic threads... What could go wrong? It worked great until it didn't. The rest of the kit is nice though. This can really only be used if applying pressure perpendicular to the wood surface. Any angle can be risky.

So far this seems to be a pretty good starter kit for learning to do wood burning. The price is very fair and it seems to be pretty durable. The heat output is definitely enough to do what you need it to do. We've played around with it some, and it seems to work great so far. When you combine this with a stencils you can put all sorts of different designs on the wood. It's really fun to do and I'm happy that I was able to obtain it to review.
