  • Great for backyard practice
It’s much easier to put up with multiple people. Great size for the price. Overall very happy with this purchase.

  • Great, but NOT portable
Finding a batting cage that fits a typical backyard and budget was tough until I found this. The netting is substantial and well-constructed, showing no signs of wear after multiple heavy hitting sessions with both baseballs and softballs. Very impressed with the overall durability for the price. This makes organizing extra practice sessions so much easier. Great product! This is a heavy duty batting cage that comes in a very heavy, flat pack box and will take an hour or two to put together with a helper. It is a full 30 ft deep with a zip door, and is 13 feet wide and 9 ft tall. The instructions are clear, and all parts are included. The mesh net, posts and poles, anchors, pins, tie ropes are all there. While the product description says it goes together in minutes, it took us a couple of hours. There is some adjusting getting the arches even before anchoring them. Things to like: This set up can withstand heavy hits and is self contained, it's built better than other similar batting cages on the market. Bring a bucket of balls and have at it. This will be used by a middle schooler for baseball and a little one for T-ball. We also have one adult softball player who will be using it for stress relief (see middle schooler and preschool for examples of stress!) This can also be used for tennis practice and learning soccer or football kicks. We have added a pitch machine, which will run anywhere from $40 to several hundred dollars on Amazon, depending on the type and amount of balls loaded and the speed/adjustability (helmets, bats, balls, and machine are not included.) This batting cage will be left in place in the weather and should hold up well. We have a nearby storage shed to keep the equipment and pitching machine protected when not in use. Having priced out the most basic batting cages at $25-35 hour, this cage pays for itself very quickly. This is a great solution for the kiddos to have regular practice, and a great way to keep visiting kids busy, too. I was excited to set this up for my son to practice batting, but it turned out more difficult than anticipated. For starters, it's 30 ft long but the tethers extend several feet beyond that, so it wouldn't fit where I hoped it would in my yard. It also took two of us to set it up. It's not so "portable," and the material quality is of a medium thickness and durability, I'd say, so I don't expect it to last too too many seasons. For almost $200, I can't say I was thrilled by the value, but it's still functional for his current stage, and it's pretty fun to own our own batting cage and not have to drive to get to one. ... show more

  • Not For Everyone
I gave this product a 2 star because I assume some people may find it more useful than I did, but it's not for me. First, it's not portable. You assemble the rods by putting them together into their long form and then you tape the joints so they won't come apart. Then you carefully install them into the sleeves of the net. Once that is done the net is still far from being erected, but also would need an open trailer to haul it anywhere, and you can't break it down without untaping. Second, once you have the rods installed, now the difficult part starts. You have to stand up one end and stake it down. This requires multiple people and multiple stakes and tethers. The rods are kept in tension by the oddest mechanism...a small eyebolt-shaped piece that simply (and very loosely) inserts into the bottom of the rods...and the pops out easily. Why they don't lock in place or at least have some method of keeping them in there is beyond me. Check the instructions and you'll see what I'm talking about. If you manage to stake everything down and somehow get this system erected properly, it could be somewhat useful. It's smaller than a typical batting cage, but big enough to have one in the yard. But at the end of the day they're going for value and affordability, and while this is an affordable product, it is not a great value if you value your time and sanity. Spend a little more and get an actual batting cage with a support structure that isn't under tension the whole time. ... show more

  • Mala calidad de la red
La red no resiste, solo la use una vez y se empezó a romper, las pelotas salían volando fuera de la red por todos lados

  • Versatile and Sturdy — Perfect for My Birds!
I originally bought this 30x13x9 batting cage for sports use, but I ended up converting it into a flight aviary for my birds by replacing the netting with bird netting — and it works beautifully! The frame is sturdy, easy to assemble, and holds up well outdoors. I appreciate that it’s lightweight enough to move if needed but still solid once it’s set up. The size gives my birds plenty of space to fly and exercise safely, and the structure has handled wind and rain without any issues. It’s a great example of how versatile this setup can be — whether you’re using it for batting practice or for a creative project like mine. Definitely worth it for the price! ... show more

  • Doesn’t work for golf balls.
The media could not be loaded. This thing was tedious as heck to install. Me and my husband did it ourselves and it was all fine and dandy until it came time to strap it down. I held one side while he rushed to put the strings into the rods at the top of the net then hammer the stakes in. Blows a lot with the wind. DOES NOT WORK WITH GOLF BALLS!!! Kids were able to hit golf balls but they don’t hit that hard. Me and my husband lost the golf balls. Good for baseball and softball. Once it’s up, it’s not gonna be an item you’ll willingly want to dismantle cause of how big and tedious it was to assemble. Definitely a two person job. Make sure you secure the net along the bottom to the straps when you hammer the metal stakes in cause the balls will go right under the net if you don’t. It’s extra extra large, so no worries about sizing there. ... show more

  • Large and Strong
If you are looking for a large batting cage, this one is large and roomy. It is perfect for practice, and it keeps balls from going all over the place. It is easy enough to setup, but it takes time and taking it all down takes a good bit of time as well. I wouldn’t consider this to be portable in the sense that it’s easy to put up and take down, but it is portable in the sense that it’s not permanent. You can take it down and store it away or move it, if you want to. The netting seems to be good quality and durable. My experience has taught me that these nets can only last so long when they’re in the elements and sun day after day, so how long it will hold up is anyone’s guess, but that’s true of all these types of nets. I think it’s a great setup at an affordable price, so I am happy with it. ... show more
