They seem pretty strong/ sturdy to me and include instructions to show how to hoop items I had ordered another set from a different manufacturer and I prefer this set. It is larger and holds onesies better, and works better for adult socks.

These are sturdy and help get the sock stretched out in a way that makes embroidering or fixing holes much easier. I like that it came with 3 sizes so depending on the stretch you can still get a good space to work on.

There comes a particular evening in winter when a man pulls off his boots, sets them beside the stove, and discovers that winter has eaten another hole through the heel of a perfectly good wool sock. Hand-knitted socks deserve better than the trash bin. (Especially given the time it takes to make them let alone the cost of good wool) These little hoops have proven surprisingly useful for just that purpose. They hold the heel open and under enough tension that I can actually see what I’m doing while weaving new yarn across the worn area. This is particularly helpful with thick hand-knit wool socks, whose heels have a hard life inside men’s work boots during the long winter months. After enough miles of cold floors, snow, and boots, even good wool eventually wears thin. The different sizes are useful, especially since the larger hoops accommodate heavier socks reasonably well. Once positioned, they provide a much better working surface than trying to stretch the heel over my hand or improvise with whatever round object happens to be nearby. For small holes and areas that are only beginning to wear through, they make reinforcing the original knitting considerably easier. Construction is decent rather than exceptional. The metal is lightweight, and while everything has held its shape and worked as intended, these don’t have the substantial feel of an heirloom sewing tool. At this price, however, I wasn’t really expecting something my descendants will discover in an old wooden sewing box in the year 3042. What they do accomplish is more important: they make it a bit easier to turn a hole back into a heel and give someoje just a bit more time their favorite pair of wool socks. Four stars for materials, build quality, and genuine usefulness.

Understand, the detail information said it is for embroidery machines, but is not. The description is fraudulent. It is not appropriate for embroidery machines, most likely used for hand embroidery. The companies should change the description details. Be honest with customers.

My wife has gotten into embroidery with a machine lately, and she had dismissed the idea of doing anything like socks just because of the difficulty involved in holding them in a precise manner in the machine, but this hoop set takes care of that problem perfectly. These hoops are pretty strong, seem to be high quality, and appear to do a fine job in keeping the sock material in place while the machine works its magic. She's super happy with them, and the fact that there are multiple sizes is a bonus.

I used to embroider lots of socks for my daughter when she was little, so now that she has given me a granddaughter, I’m looking forward to making little matching socks to go with her outfits. Years ago I bent a wire coat hanger into something similar, and while it worked, this is much nicer and easier to use. It keeps the sock stretched properly so you can embroider it on a flatbed embroidery machine without stitching through both sides. After the sock is on the frame, you’ll still need to pin the frame to the hooped stabilizer, but that’s quick and easy. It worked great for me, and I’m happy to finally have a purpose-built tool instead of my homemade version. Tip: This doesn’t replace your embroidery hoop. It simply holds the sock open. You still pin the holder to the hooped stabilizer before stitching.

If you’ve tried embroidering machines before you know the struggle of the fabric shifting or accidentally stitching through both layers. These fix that when working with socks. The sock slides over the frame and stays put while the machine works. I use these with my Janome and they fit without any issues. The three sizes cover adult, kids and infant socks which means one set handles everything. I have been wanting to try baby socks and I’m excited to have the right size for it now. The frames feel solid. The copper finish looks clean and the tips have protective caps so they don’t snag the fabric.

These embroidery hoops work wonderfully. They are very easy to get the socks on and then use sticky stabilizer to float the sock embroidery hoop right on top of it. I also have the embroidery machine do a basting stitch around the design to hold it in place as well. You get 2 adult sock hoops and 1 child sock hoop. These embroidery hoops are not that large so it is very easy to store them. What a great value as it makes machine embroidery on socks so easy.
