If you have a look at the condition of the neoprene foam insulation that is used to insulate the supply and return lines from your air conditioner condenser/compressor, you're going to see that it's in rough shape, unless it's new. Part of it is from UV exposure, some from trying to cut the weeds behind the unit and some from animals running over them. These sleeves protect the foam from all of that. You can even wrap the thermostat wires inside to help protect them from being weed-whacked and damaged. Make sure that the closure is on the same side as any bends in the pipe. These do work best on straight runs, but can go around an elbow.

This insulation covers is one of the better 3 layer ones that I’ve picked up to help with protecting my water pipes from the freezing cold temperatures during the winter season. It’s wider than the usual 10.2”, is a little thicker than most and the Velcro stays together well. This is priced well but currently has a nice coupon so it’s even better with that👍 This will fit well around a 3” pipe that’s fitted with a heated tape line. Even though the Velcro sticks well I’ll wrap insulation tape around it to keep it totally secure and airtight. If you need to insulate piping this would be an excellent choice👍👍

This'll work! It's a great idea. Has strong velcro so it'll stick around the pipe. It's insulated like a lunchbox, and I'm glad the insulation around my pipes will actually look nice. Made well, looks good, seems like it'll last a long time.

The product itself is pretty poorly made (it is incredibly thin; does not do well around bended pipes). The use case for the product is also questionable. Since the cover is so thin, it really doesn't provide any additional value or safeguards in protecting your insulation tube. I would guess that this product is only useful if you have very cheap insulation-- and my advice would be to buy better insulation, as this product will not be helpful.

Excellent quality! Definitely seems like it will hold up outdoors in the elements which is super important considering it will be full sun in the install location. Fit is perfect, also it can be trimmed length wise in case you don't need the full length of it. Most likely will need to considering all whip sizes vary. It does a great job of keeping the internal temps, I really needed this for my mini split line set because the cheap insulation they come with still condensate, my install was a bit different since I have an external cavity to get through past my wall cavity which led to internal condensation, definitely not good over time! Value is great considering the quality, and the length of it, very happy with this item, do recommend.

Ignoring the fact that they also add to the insulation factor of the line sets, that's the least reason to have these covers. It's way to easy to wack off the OEM foam insulation of your air conditioner,, and more importantly, damage your precious copper tubing underneath. If you accidentally knick it with a line trimmer, hit it with your mower, or even if corrosion causes a pinhole leak you are looking at a $300 service fee, several hundred dollars to replace the lineset, and another couple hundred dollars to vacuum and recharge your refrigerant... OR.... you can get a cheap and durable protective cover and never have to deal with that crap. Just get it.
