Got this because I was using a craftsman 10" orbital buffer that was just too big to get to smaller areas of my pick up truck. Not being a professional detailer I can't give expert opinion, seems like it did a good job to restore and correct the paint on my truck. I wanted a smaller polisher so that I could polish the smaller, harder to reach areas on my vehicles, like the wing mirrors, raised spoilers, grille inserts etc, and landed on this RAYBAO 3" (and 2") polisher. This polisher has a lot of power for its size, it feels hefty in your hand, very solid, but it is also quite heavy for detail work, I wasn't expecting that. This is a pretty comprehensive kit, it has a variety of 3" and 2" buffing and polishing pads, they are tapered, so that the mounting plate is actually smaller than the pad, meaning you can get into tighter spaces. You get an extra polishing head, and the tool to replace it, for the really tight spots. You also get a U-shaped handle and also a straight handle that you can put on either the left or right hand side. You cannot add both handles at the same time, either the straight handle OR the U-shaped handle. To install either of them, you have to remove the blue plastic covers with a flat head screwdriver to reveal the mounting points behind. You can adjust the angle of the U-shaped handle, as you tighten it down, there are little dimples that allow you to lock it into a position that you want. But it doesn't 'ratchet' so you can't change it on the fly, you need to loosen the handle and reposition it, if you want to change the angle. This polisher is also variable speed, you have 6 different settings you can use to dial in the polisher to what you need to use it for, whether its using compound, polishing, or buffing. Overall very happy with the polisher, just wish it was a little bit lighter to be able to maneuver in those tighter areas, and the nooks and crannies a little easier. I ordered this buffer to have one for getting into some of the hard to reach areas when I am color sanding and buffing out a car. It's certainly a decent size for that kind of application and I can see how you could do an entire car body with it as well. The Buffer offers 2 different handle configurations which is a nice option to have. So far I like the Bale handle on the back of the before. Also like that it has a really long cord with a velcro strap for when you coil it up. No need for an extension cord at all. The buffer comes with 2 different size heads and a variety of pads to fit them. It would be nice if the manual gave a little info about each of them so you would have a better idea of their intended application. The buffer is a little heavier than I was expecting. I attribute that to it being very well made and the weight only means that you don;' need to add any additional pressure when using it. I was also pleased to see that it has a small table printed on the body of it indicating how the numbers on the variable speed dial correlate to RPM of the buffer head. It does a nice job buffing and polishing and is a worthwhile option if you are looking for a smaller buffer. ... show more

I got myself a newer car so obviously, I'd like to keep it looking as nice as possible. I came across this and said why not, definitely would beat doing it by hand. First thing I noticed was the amount of weight this thing has. It wasn't what I was expecting but at the same time, it keeps it from being a flimsy piece of junk. If you're not used to using a buffer like this (such as myself), it will take practice to get it the way you want it but it's really satisfying to see the before/after results ... show more
