Holds strong. One downside is the dip where the two rods meet. Curtains can get stuck on it when closing and opening.

They arrived on time and well packaged. The first rod I attempted to install had no spring to it and broke as I was attempting to install it. I tossed it in the garbage. The second rod in the pack has VERY LITTLE spring and a TON of tension trying to install it and keep it in place. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE RODS. I STILL HAVE TWO LEFT. I DID NTO RETURN THEM BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WORTH THE GAS TO GO TO KOHL'S TO DO THE RETURN. THEY ARE JUNK VERY POORLY MADE AND NOT WORTH THE ANXIETY TRYING TO INSTALL THEM. I have used tension rods for many years and NEVER had the problems I have had with these rods. NO, NO NO!!! I would have given NO STAR rating, but thought that they would not post this review without a rating.

*** Warning - This item only has a max length of 27.5" not 28" *** I am not happy with my purchase because this could have all been avoided if not for the negligence of the seller by not knowing their product. :( :( :( The opening I needed the item for is exactly 27.5", so I figured that the 28" (as stated in the title) would give it the right amount of pressure required to hold the extension rod up along with the curtain. But the description is wrong, the rods do not open to a full 28". Now I have to go through the whole return process, which normally wouldn't be too big of a deal, but I currently have a broken leg and require the assistance of someone else to get the item to a UPS drop-off location. I did give 3 stars because the item arrived quickly, and it is fairly sturdy even with the rods being as thin as they are. _______________________________________________________________________________ *****Note to all sellers***** When selling items that are purchased according to the length, The "Key Requirement" is to give the "Exact Length". You simply cannot advertise the item as being one length when it is actually another. _______________________________________________________________________________
