A African Violet takes a special treatment for watering. What a very wise elder taught me was to: Cut a thin strip of felt ( found in a hobby supply store or fabric shop). Push the felt up the hole at the bottom of the inner pot. Push it up into the plant dirt an inch or so. Now you have a couples inches of felt sticking out of the bottom of the inner pot. This works as a “ Wick” for your plant. When you put the inner pot into the outer pot you are now ready to water your plant. The water goes in the inner pot and down the “ wick”, then stays in the bottom of the outer pot, but the “ wick” slowly soaks up the water into the soil and plant roots. I was very pleased with the quality of these flower pots. They are the perfect size for my violets and provide a good amount of water to the plant.....from the bottom up! Just love them.

The violet would like me to tell you how much she loves her larger pot. She also really enjoys the additional height she has gained since this pot is much taller than her last pot. A gorgeous pot with huge water reservoir.

This pot is nice and sturdy and will hold up well. It's getting harder to find cute african violet pots, so it's nice to see one like this with such a classic design. The little frill on the outer edge is so cute and vintage. The sort of urn shaped reservoir holds a lot of water so you won't constantly be topping up your plant. The pot is well made from what I can tell and I haven’t had issues with disintegration either.
