Found arrangements to be very advanced - which is a good thing! But versions are so modified that the melody is really unrecognizable. For example, my husband didn't recognize "Candle in the Wind" However, as full on jazz solo piano, it is wonderful. Just don't expect to hum along.

  • Sir Elton in Twenty Pieces
These are not your father's Elton John sheet music arrangements nor are they the "note-for-note" arrangements that are almost useless outside of a band setting. These are proper jazz(ish) piano solos that you can play and well represent Sir Elton's canon. "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" is a fabulous gospelesque. arrangement and "Crocodile Rock" sounds worthy of Albert Ammons or Pete Johnson. • Do NOT buy kindle version!
Kindle version of this music is horribly formatted. I have to change the view settings on my device sometimes within one song to be able to read all the notes. Horribly put together and takes away from what should be delightful music to play. Horrible job, Kindle!

I think I would prefer the original versions as compared to the jazzed up versions.

  • Interesting
Not really jazz arrangements. Some songs are unrecognizable when played.

  • Disappointing
Brent Edstrom normally creates great jazz piano arrangements. His Elton John arrangements are however not up to his standards. The arrangements completely miss out the syncopated feel that Elton John's puts into his piano. In addition the arrangements sound extremely thin since they are lacking enough harmonic embellishments. ... show more

Great arrangements for the intermediate pianist! It's refreshing to find more than the usual vanilla chords!
