I can not review based on use at this time as it is a christmas present. The set and case seem to be decent. This package came in a bit mess with smaller pieces falling out of the case and into the protective bag. I assume it's either holiday rush to fill orders or shifting during shipping. Regardless everything is there and appears to be in working order. It's an easy fix before hand if your gifting it. It only takes a second to put the safety caps back on and straighten everything up so it will zip again.

This 26-in-1 wood carving kit is an excellent value for anyone looking to dive into whittling without spending a fortune on individual tools. It truly is a "complete" set, coming with a great variety of knives, chisels, and even safety gloves, which I really appreciated as a beginner. The blades arrived surprisingly sharp right out of the box, and the wooden handles are comfortable to hold for longer carving sessions. I’m giving it four stars instead of five because while the tools are great, the sharpening stone included is a bit small and low-quality, so you might eventually want to upgrade that specifically. Overall, it’s a fantastic, all-inclusive hobby kit that provides everything a beginner needs to start their first DIY woodworking project immediately.

They're well made and sharp and look nice. We like the carrying pouch they came in. It keeps them contained and makes it safe to travel with them. My 14 year old is using them to carve sticks and says they do the job he expected them to do.

This kit says it’s for beginners and that is exactly what I am. I’ve done a lot of woodworking and know my way around a straight blade chisel, but I’ve never tried whittling anything. It comes with a pair of cut resistant gloves, which I appreciate because there's nothing worse than having a blade slip and cut yourself on first attempt. The kit comes with 4 carving knives, 3 of which are quite sharp, the hook knife seems a bit dull to me. It also comes with 5 chisel tip tools, which I found myself using mostly. Besides all that there is leather strop for sharpening and a couple of basswood sample blocks to get started. Basswood is the perfect beginners wood because there is very little grain structure, it’s like carving on a bar of soap. I decided to start on something simple, at least it seemed simple, and carve some relief text. I printed a sample on paper, glued it to one surface, watched a couple of videos and started cutting. The insides of the letters were more complicated than I anticipated because they were so small, but I did my best. This little block took me about 3 hours, but I have to say, it was satisfying, until I started trying to sand inside the relief area. That part was maddening, and I was often tempted to cheat and break out the rotary tool and do it with a machine, but I pushed through and did it all by hand. It’s not the prettiest piece, but it’s not the tool's fault. I hesitate to say that I’m going to start a new hobby, but I certainly like having all these tools. I do a fair amount of live edge wood and epoxy resin projects and there are many times when I must gouge out some dead bark or worm hole and don’t have the tool to do it cleanly. It seems to be a nice set with a convenient zippered pouch; the blades are all solidly mounted and sharp.
