  • Great welder for a fraction of the typical price!
I’ve never AC welded aluminum before using this machine, but with a bit of YouTube education and practice I was able to weld up a whole bed camper for my truck using 1/8” square tubing. This machine had no trouble welding the 1/8” material with fusion the whole way through even on 110v. **I am not a welder, just a DIYer, and so I have nothing to compare this machine to** and don’t know if this really measures up to machines 2-5x the cost, but it definitely can weld aluminum even with a novice user! I’m sure the more expensive machines are better or easier to use but for the price point, this is fantastic value for the money! If you want to TIG weld steel or aluminum but don’t want to break the bank on a very expensive welder, I would definitely recommend this machine. It is tricky to use without the foot pedal though, as I have also experienced with tog welding sheet steel, so I would definitely recommend getting the foot pedal made by the same company. ... show more

  • Good quality. Needs an argon regulator.
I just got this today. I am going to leave a video review later. So far this seems good. The torch is good quality and the stinger is great. Instructions are ok. One you get the argon system set up correctly it runs great. Took some time to stop line leaks. It does not come with an argon regulator or foot pedal. I have to say it is much better quality than I expected. ... show more

  • Can't be beat for the price
Just starting out learning how to weld so I didn't want to spend 500+ on a ac/dc welder. Been using it for about 2 months the welds pictured were right out of the box on the day I got it. For the price of other welders you can get this one + a argon tank. Haven't had any issues with it. Has worked well with anything I have tried to weld super lightweight so I mounted it in my wall next to my little welding station. Build quality is what you would expect for a $400 welder can't ask for more for that value. Is it the best thing in the world? probably not.. does it weld? Yes. Customer service is actually really good too had a dent in the machine from shipping and they sent me a replacement without any hassle ... show more

  • Screen not working properly, but it welds stuff
***Edited after a couple months, see my new comments below*** Took this out of the box to check and see if it operates or has any problems. As expected, for how cheap this thing is, the display screen seems to intermittently turn off. Not sure if it's a simple loose connection inside, but it's not a good first impression. The welder welds and was able to put a poor bead on two 1/16" plates of aluminum using the TIG setup using 110V. Probably would've been much better with more wall power, but it did the job. With more practice, I'm sure it will be improved. 1st edit: Welder does not seem to want to work in MMA mode. I looked around at the screen for a while and tried looking through the manual, but to no avail. Dropped another star off the review. Will edit again if I can get it sorted out. I fixed the screen by opening up the housing and glued down the display connector. It the housing wasn't holding it steady, but it's rock solid now. The company reached out to me to ask if they could help with it, but I had already fixed it. ... show more

  • Works great! (But what do I know?)
I'm fairly proficient at GMAW and FCAW welding, and I can make a serviceable MMA weld if the metal is thick enough, so I decided it's time to try TIG. After watching a dozen YouTube videos, I got this welder and a foot pedal and went to town. Here are my first TIG welds on mild steel. I was playing with the settings just to see how everything felt, and I did crazy things like passing the torch oven an existing weld (in case you're wondering why one is so smooth.) I learned all of the best beginner skills like dipping the tungsten, using a dirty electrode, and even making a "q-tip" or two. After a couple of hours, I now feel qualified to rate this machine five stars! The UI is pretty straight-forward, and the manual contains in-depth descriptions and graphs of the various modes along with fairly complete wiring schematics and the same brief introduction to welding that all of these Chinese welders come with (maybe it's some kind of requirement there?) The manual is certainly a lot more useful than the manuals that have come with my other welders. The machine annoyingly has a barbed hose connector on the back, so I had to make an adapter to make it work with my regulator's hose. The machine is relatively quiet, and the fan even turns itself off completely if you aren't heating it up too much inside. This doesn't seem to line up directly with when I expect it, but all of my other welders just have the fans on full blast all the time so it's a big plus. The torch cable (?) is really long, which is nice, but the handle seems bulky and not as comfortable to hold as the kinds I see in videos. I suppose those guys all use fancy expensive torches, though, and this one seems to work just fine. I'm getting pretty good at rapid electrode replacement; I've decided to bump up my 10-electrode quiver to 20, though, because I can't seem to get more than one good pass before I mess one up. Check other reviews to see what the TIG experts say. ... show more

  • Worked great
I wasn’t sure how good this was going to work as I’d never heard of this brand before but decided to give it a try. Everything worked flawlessly but i think it would be good to update the description and pictures to show if it comes with the Leeds or not bc i purchased my own just in case it didn’t.
