My mom makes handmade greeting cards. She was looking for something sturdy to put behind her die and stamp sets so that it would be labeled and provide a bit of support. I cut these in half. They are thick enough that they provide structure but are lightweight enough to be cut by a heavy duty chop chop style paper cutter. They are bright white, smooth, and come packaged to protect the corners in another sturdy box. They do not seem to warp after a few weeks of being used in this manner which I think is not how most people would use them. The cost of these was better than many of the options for dividers out there. If I were still teaching art, I would use these as canvases. These backing boards were a perfect fit for some plastic envelopes I purchased to store craft supplies. They are much stiffer/thicker than 110# paper. At 1/16”, they added a little more stiffness and separation for the contents without taking up a lot of the expansion space in the envelope. Being white allows the items to be easily distinguished. I’m using them to separate like or related items in a plastic envelope. The white is visible on both sides making the content easy to see. These could even be cut for dimensional projects as they are lightweight, but hold their shape well. It was worth the time to search these out to get the size, thickness and type of paperboard I was looking for. The smooth finish would allow for adding pockets or stickers to personalize or label contents in each envelope or when using for craft projects. So much nicer than thick or corrugated cardboard. Fair priced. Approx. a 40 point thickness, so not as thin as comic book backing boards. Center does not appear to be white but tan card materials. Works fine for record backings, though it is short by 1/2" for that all around.
