As an art teacher staring down the barrel of the end-of-year show with 180 student masterpieces and zero motivation to wrestle with the mat cutter, these pre-cut black mat boards were my salvation. Are they high-quality? Yes. Are they perfectly uniform and professional-looking? Absolutely. Do they whisper, “Go ahead, take a nap—I've got this”? Spiritually, yes. In the past, matting student art meant a night of tears, measuring mishaps, and sacrificing several fingertips to the X-Acto gods. Not this year. I opened the box, dropped in the art, and basked in the sweet efficiency. Suddenly I was the organized, put-together teacher Pinterest always promised I could be. Students were impressed. Admin was impressed. I even impressed myself—and I haven’t felt that since I successfully avoided glitter all semester. Buy these. Save your hands, your time, and your will to teach another year.

The frame and backing are sleek and sturdy but is anyone else finding residue buildup on the bags? I sell my prints matted and bagged and I'm wondering if it's just from so many hands or temp changes being in warmer conditions lately

This set of 25 pre-cut black photo mats and back boards plus the plastic covers is probably the best "beyond expectations" item I have ever bought from Amazon. The mats are perfectly cut and exactly the size listed. The back boards are also perfectly cut and exactly fit the mats, making a perfect project making set for anyone doing photo/art mounting. There are also 25 plastic covers to put one over each finished project and create the best impression of professional work. You only have to have your design, photo, and the glue (I used rubber cement) to finish the project. Not only are these very well made, they are also shipped in a great package that does not allow damage (at least not easily). I am extremely happy with this purchase. I am attaching two photos of the craft designs I made on two of the mat boards. I made them for each family member with designs they would enjoy, and I mounted a family photo I had done this year for Christmas for each family member. I am not showing the final project, which has the personal family picture, but you can see how nicely the mats work for this project, and the back boards made them so sturdy to hang! I just had to add a hangar on the back of each back board. Very, very happy.
