It says age 6 to 12 and indicates that it can be shortened or extended according to size of child which is not true. I bought 5 for my grands and so far 3 of the forward and backwards plastic shift have broken off. Actually the two 11 year old can still ride them but pretty cramped. We start our 6-year-old on low-speed mode, and my 10-year-old uses sport/drift mode. Both kids get exactly the experience they want. Battery lasts about 1.5 hours of real playtime.
