When it comes to getting a good quality finished product with a laser engraver/cutter the type and quality of the wood used is absolutely paramount! I am running a Creality Ender 3 Pro with a five watt laser head which makes the 12” by 12” size of this basswood ideal. The basswood supplied by Pasrun is absolute top quality!!! Inspecting all 18 sheets I found no blemishes, nor did I find any small knots. Large knots are rare in basswood, where small knots can be more common. This 3mm thick basswood is ideal for cutting out 3D model pieces on the laser. At the time of this review the Pasrun 18 Pieces of Basswood Board was selling for $21.99 which makes for a cost of only a $1.22 per sheet which is an outstanding price and if your in the beginning learning phase this high quality low cost wood is ideal.

Wood has nice texture, is flat, smooth and cuts easily. ON the negative side this wood is UNDERSIZED in thickness. Claims to be 1/8 thick which is .125". THE ACTUAL MEASUREMENT IS .110". Unfortunately, most of the other sellers that I have tried to by from have been even more undersized. Quality control should be ashamed! When using I have to redo all dimensions and scaling of my projects and files to make this wood work.

All of mine came perfectly cut and smooth. It takes finishes really well and laser cuts easily. Your settings will differ based on machine, but my Atomstack S10 gets it done with one pass and without singing. Etching and engraving work well too.

This basswood cuts great in my Beamo laser cutter. Much better and cleaner than cheap Big-box hardware store plywood. Glad I found this as I have a bunch of projects coming up this will be great for. Dont buy your laser wood/material from the blue or orange store. Get this instead. Cuts so much better and makes for a much nicer final product.

This Pasrun basswood plywood is pretty good over-all, but here are the specs so you can make an informed decision about whether or not it will work for you: ACTUAL Size 11 7/8 square, 2.8mm depth Warping: Better than most. The side view shows that the top sheets of wood have curved a little bit after being stored flat for a few weeks with no weights on it. Fill: I have not yet hit any big, nasty knots on the interior, which is really important to me. I've cut about 4 sheets into intricate/small pieces without any burnouts. Surface: OK. It is a little wavy in places (second picture - you can feel the waves) and there are some surface knots. Most are small, but you may find some larger surface flaws - or you may not consider that a flaw. Price: $1.28 per sheet. The listing for 18 sheets says $1.22 but the math is wrong. Maybe the changed the price and did not update it? Anyway, check the math if you are watching the per sheet cost. Given the products I make, I would order this wood again. I think it is best for cutting vs engraving and I am happy with it over-all, though I do dislike it when the size, thickness and price are all different in real life than in the listing.

Nice uniform square foo pieces of basswood. Great for making puzzles and other wood cutting project. Will be using to make some 3-d puzzles with my laser (been wanting to try for a while) and these boards will work great. Nice smooth finish and haven't seen any "knots" or defects in the wood pieces I have looked at so far. Will also be making some frames with them and they take stain or painting well.

Nice product and cuts pretty good. Only down side is the wood does come warped, or at least mine did, and getting it to lay flat I had to use quite a few hold downs on my cutting surface to get a good consistent cut.
