Was hopeful this would help me tighten wire. VERY disappointed!!! The "clips: bend. They collapse and distort directly where the wire is supposed to wrap. Angle is wrong for ease of use for the "tool". You cannot really keep the wire-clip-tool aligned at proper orientation to provide the twist/turn to wrap the wire around the neck of the clip. Even if you manage to struggle and get it to wrap the neck of the clip collapses and distorts. Worthless!!! Gonna have to use old fashioned fence stretcher. ... show more

The idea is good and they do work. Unfortunately the piece that gathers the fence to increase tension deforms causing the gains to go down. Worked better than restringing the fence. We'll see if they hold up.

I bought this to use Jakes wire tighteners because I did not want to spend the money on the good tightener handle. Broke this one after tightening just a few fence lines and ended up buying the good one anyway. Maybe good for lighter gauge wire but not big gauge barbed wire and double smooth.
