These interface pads are designed to be used between your sanding pad and a mesh/net sanding disk made by many brands. I have switched to using Mirka and 3M sanding mesh exclusively and have been using a Festool interface pad for a couple of years. These pads are slightly thinner than the Festool ones, and appear to have a slightly stronger velcro on them. They seem to function well, and are a decent replacement for the Festool pads (although I am concerned that the stronger velcro might cause the sanding pad to wear out faster.). However, at the price point that these are sold at, they are at most $1-$2 cheaper than a set of the 203343 Granat Net Protection Pad interface pads. At that price, I am not sure why you would choose these over the Festool. This is one of those rare times when Festool is affordable, or the maker/seller of these is taking advantage of Festool's high prices. ... show more

These fit my Festool sander perfectly and the holes line up for dust extracting. They connect easily to the sandpaper, and are a nice extra layer of protection for the sander pad especially when using very thin sandpaper. The first one is lasting much longer than anticipated. The description for this pad says it's useful "to minimize the risk of oversanding at the edge." I got them to protect the hooks on my sander pad when using sand net style sand paper. With sand net paper, the hooks can stick through the sand paper and slowly get sanded off. Using one of these pads between the sand paper and the sander pad, if the hooks get sanded off this pad, it is easy to replace and doesn't cost much. It's way better than replacing the pad on the sander!! ... show more

    • Appears To Be Specific To Festool, Should Work Well With The Correct Sander

I saw the Festool mention in the title of this item listing, but ordered it anyway assuming that with all the holes it'd work with my off-brand 6" orbital sander. I was wrong, the holes don't line up well at all for effective dust extraction, so I haven't used these and never will. Assuming you have the appropriate Festool sander it appears these would work well. The hook and loop has good grip and the price isn't bad. ... show more
