Description

The compact PowerMTS 251Si represents the latest evolution in digitally controlled multi-process inverter welders by Everlast. The new PowerMTS 251SI is engineered to offer unparalleled versatility. It boasts standard DC MIG, TIG, and Stick welding capabilities, along with advanced features like Synergic MIG, Pulse MIG, and Pulse TIG modes. Notably, it stands out as the only compact welder to offer pulse MIG and pulse TIG functionalities. Moreover, operators can choose between touchless, high-frequency start or lift start in TIG mode, enhancing flexibility. The stick mode features increased adjustability with hot start intensity and duration controls. Despite its advanced features, operating the welder is straightforward. There are no complex menus or touch screens; all controls are conveniently located on the panel face for easy access. Additionally, all connections, including the TIG torch connection with gas solenoid control, are conveniently located on the front panel. This sets us apart from competitors who require TIG connections through side panels or non-standard connections with manual gas valves. As pioneers in compact fully-featured inverter MTS units in the North American market, Everlast continues to lead the way in innovation.

  • Very Good Welder So Far
I have been using this welder now for about 6 months. Very good welder so far. I am not a pro welder. I have not tried running it on 115 volt power yet, only 230 volt. I am used to welding mig and fluxcore with a Miller 140. I can only attest to the mig and tig processes. I have not used it for stick yet. I am new to tig but so far I like what I have been able to do, I think the High Frequency start has helped to learn. This is a beast for mig and fluxcore! I have mostly used it for mig with 75/25 gas and .035 Lincoln wire from Homer Depot. Welded beautifully building a new welding table with 3/16" thick box tubing and a 3/8" thick top. Been rebuilding some heavy steel tables (1/4" angle) and it is flawless. I cant wait to test it out on some 1/2" - 3/4". Bottom line for me in deciding to buy this over the other brands out there was bang for buck. I got a 250 amp machine (on 230 volt power) that is portable and multi process and came with all of the accessories. I didn't have to go out and buy the tig torch or a tig peddle. It was all included. There are a lot of bells and whistles included that I haven't tried yet but I believe will make future projects a success. ... show more

  • Poor products treatment during shipping.
I couldn't be happier with the welder itself. Stick, tig and mig work great. Welder sustained some shipping damage. Box was nearly destroyed. The handle was broken and one of the channels on the bottom of the welder that the rubber feet are screwed to was crushed and had to be straightened. Everlast replaced the broken handle. I was surprised the welder worked as badly treated in shipping as it was. I just removed the gas hose from another welder, plugged it and much to my surprise it worked perfectly. A week later I hooked up the regulator and hose in preparation to weld a landscaping trailer. I turned on the gas and started welding. When I came back from lunch the new cyl. was empty. I got a another new cyl. and I mixed up some soapy water to use to check for leaks. The regulator had a bad leak where it goes into the cyl. I put the regulator on a third cyl. from another welder in my shop and the leak was still present. I loosed the fitting a little and rocked it back and forth. When I removed the regulator the fitting had high and low places all around mating surface for the cyl. valve. I took pictures of the fitting and sent them to Everlast. Customer support could not have been better. They sent me a new regulator. When I got the new regulator I hooked everything up and re-soap tested all connections, Both of the hose connections had small leaks. I just replaced the hose with much better hose and swaged clamps on. I didn't say anything to Everlast about the hose. It just wasn't that big of a deal. I wish the gas hose had standard inert gas fittings at both ends. I may silver solder some fittings together to make an adapter. With multiple welders in my shop I have to have everything interchangeable. For a one of welder it doesn't matter much. I've made three landscaping trailers and the welder has just about paid for itself. Pulse is nice, but not all that necessary for what I build. I'm sure I'll put the pulse to good use at some point. Oh, get rid of the poor ground clamp. Note: When you need to replace the o ring on the MIG gun gas pin a 6mm OD x 4mm ID x 1mm Thick. Packages of o ring can be found on Amazon and other online retailers. 6 year update: The TIG high frequency start will not work all the time. Everlast sent me a new board and it fixed the problem for a few months. I have adjusted the points several times and the problem still remains. Poor quality power cord. The jacket on the cord pulled out of the plug. Factory cables were to short. I went up one wire gage and put 15 foot cables on everything. I got a 15 foot MIG gun too. Poor quality mig gun switch. Gun has to be disassembled every few months for cleaning of the switch contacts. I replaced the ground clamp with a solid copper one. For as much as it cost it should have come with the .025- .030 rollers. The biggest problem with the welder has been caused by shipping damage. UPS literally rolled the box out the side door of the truck on to my driveway approch. I should have just sent the welder back. Everlast was good about replacing all the broken parts. Packaging was very poor. From what I see on reviews posted on YouTube the shipping damage problem still exists. Overall quality would be a B- ... show more

  • Bad customer service and support shame on you
I'm just starting out as a welder so I need all the help I can get. The manual that came from China is a joke. Couldn't follow it super horrific grammar and miswording. I saw that they had some new pdf manuals that made sense on the website but they didn't have one for my machine. My model machine has been out for about a year it's been enough time to create a decent manual for it. I called their service dept and they said they don't deal with user manuals. They directed me to sales. Sales said they don't deal with manuals. They transferred me back to tech support. I don't know how they are running things in everlast but I would hope tech support to be the first to have the operators manuals considering they're supposed to know everything about the machines in order to help with issues on said machines. Over all they are very disorganized. They don't even answer the phone in a professional manner I thought I had a wrong number. They didn't announce where you were calling. Or how they could help you. I felt I was bothering them that I had called. They didn't sound knowledgable. I felt I was answering my own questions. They basically said uh huh or stayed quiet. Very frustrating felt like I was talking to a three year old trying to get a complete answer out of them. Everlast needs to work on their customer service. Other than that I hope I don't ruin the machine I'm kind of guessing and picking up advice one the few you tube videos on how to use this particular machine. So far I've made a couple of tack welds some look decent quality others not so good. It would've helped to have assistance with how to set the controls. It's not just basic amps and wire feed. ... show more

  • Great machine terrible manual
This welder works really well. Ive only used 220 but ive ran a few rods through stick welding, done a lot of mig welding and my buddy has done a bit of tig welding with it. The only reason im not giving it 5 stars is because the manual it comes with looks like a kid made it wit crayon... its awful. And with all the settings and multiple ways to hook this machine up it does get confusing. a welding reference chart that shows round about settings for different steel thickness would be really nice too. Coming from machines that have volt range a-h and wire speed 1-8 to a machine you can adjust to the decimal makes it difficult to dial in at times. Simple fix better manual and a reference chart and 5 stars all day long. ... show more
