This tinsel is very pretty, but it can be difficult to work with because it tangles pretty easy. I'm hoping overtime I get better with teh process and get better results. This set does come with a variety of colors for the price and it's nice that a crochet hook included. I used a few strands in braided pigtails for my daughter. I think I did about 8 strands in each braid, but you could barely see it. So next time, I'll have to use a pretty good sized chunk to be able to see it better.

I was really impressed with the variation of tinsel streak colors in this kit! However, one issue is that you don't get much for each color, so if you want noticeably dense streaks of tinsel in your hair (rather than just a few scattered strands throughout) you'll have to use more than one color across your hairdo. I haven't tried the silicone ring method yet, but the first method of just looping it around some strands of your hair seems pretty simple. I wouldn't trust this stuff to be as durable as the listing claims either; it says you can supposedly wash and heat-style your hair with it, but some of the tinsel stretched or broke just from removing it from the plastic wrapping! This could be fun for a specific party or holiday occasion, but I wouldn't expect it to be a particularly long-lasting or durable look.

These are so fun and come with great colors! Installing them takes a bit to get the hung of but once you do they are really cute! Would be perfect for a bachelorette party, Halloween or anytime you want to add a little something extra to your hair!

I always find that these sets are difficult to use by yourself. The hand eye coordination involved makes it extremely hard to do. Especially if your hair is long like mine is. This set comes with a tiny crochet hook which makes it even more difficult to use. It also does not come with any pliers so you will have to supply your own. But it does have a lot of beautiful colors so if you already have the tools you need this would be a great supplemental set of tinsel. I think these are great for parties or for friends to use on each other before a concert, but for a person to use by themselves this kit just doesn't come with the right tools.

Lots of shimmery options in this tinsel set. Installing hair tinsel can difficult, and this doesn't come with instructions. Kits are much more budget friendly than going to a salon. It is easier to have someone install them in your hair for you, but it can be done on your own as well. The tinsel is fairly easy to remove when applying a new color or just ready to go natural. The tinsel can be washed, but be careful when brushing your hair. The brush or comb can tug on the beads and cause issues. Another plus is that there are 2000 strands of tinsel, and you can cut them to whatever size you prefer.
