This destroys the structural integrity of this wench and makes it unusable. This flaw needs to be fixed. Don’t waste your money, find a non-rustable option, instead.

This product is so badly designed and manufactured that one wonders how a responsible vendor could offer it for sale. For starters, the description of the product is false. There is no "double locking pawl." It has a single pawl. One would think that the vendor could count "one, two" but apparently they cannot. Beyond that, the device is made largely of stamped steel parts which have not been de-burred, leaving theedges dangerously sharp, especially the edges of the two parts that comprise the handle. As delivered, the cable was so over-wrapped on the drum that it could not be played out, even when wearing gloves to avoid the razor sharp handles. The only way the cable could be played out was to disassemble the unit and pull out the drum. At which point it all went into the trash bin. And now I see the price has increased by $10. Even if this product was offered for free it wouldn't be worth it. Minus five stars both for the product and the vendor.

No way this thing could handle 2 tons! Incredibly thin chasey, short line and the line hook pulled off the line under very lite pressure. Could have really hurt someone. Returning and highly recommend you spend more for higher quality.
