Probably the same quality. The spring is heavy duty and the tubes are thick (looks to be 12ga). My gate is 7x8 - it’s very tall and heavy. I did not go with gorilla b/c it looks the same so it’s probably fr the same factory and I’m not spending $160 on a set. I bought 2. installed one and it works well but I need to support it for lowering. I will install the second kit and it should be even better. I chose to stitch weld the tubes together instead of using fasteners. I would definitely buy again and again. ... show more

Purchased these to assist my mid-70s husband in lifting the heavy, metal gate on his work trailer. He said that they were easy to install and seem to be of good quality. The yellow color against his black trailer is a bit funky, but if he hates it, he can paint them. He said that they make it much easier for him to put his gate down and get it back up again. This product is substandard. The instructions are sparse and unclear. Upon finally getting the unit installed, the cable broke on the first attempt to use it. The cable was not crimped correctly, and, therefore, it left the unit unusable. When the cable snapped, it created a hazardous situation. Every thing went well, I can lifr the gate on my trailer with one hand, before I almost broke my wrist. Just need to be aware of some bolts didn't come with nuts. Maybe human error during packaging. Got it half the price from other sellers.

I have almost the identical trailer that is in the pics and these springs are made for something 4 times heavier does not work at all way too much spring extremely dangerous when hooked up according to instructions gate will not go down past halfway without standing on it, and will spring up with enough force to break your arm ... show more
