I use these to open soda, water, juice bottles and jars. Easily adjusts to any size bottle or jar and gripps well. I bought this one for my sister who suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis. This changed her life. She doesn't have to ask for help opening anything or wait till someone comes home.

I was particularly pleased when my stepdad didn’t like these and went to get his old metal filter wrenches, they didn’t work, then I slapped this bad boy on the oil filter and twisted it right off. I don’t get moments like that involving tools with him often so that gave this bonus points from me.

I’m sure these have a ton of practical uses and I might end up using them for a number of things down the line. That being said, I bought them for a specific purpose, which was getting a very stubborn shower head off when my plumbers wrench couldn’t get a good grip and I had nothing else that could fit. So I googled some options and saw a number of variations of this product from different manufacturers. As I always do, I jumped over to Amazon to see what options there were and found this two piece set. Seemed like a good deal and since I didn’t know how big or small I would need this to be, having two options was a safe bet . At the end of the day they didn’t do anything to help, that I could tell. I did eventually get the shower head off so perhaps these loosed it up to some degree but it was not the tool that finished the job or made any obvious impact I get that this is not the specific use intended for these but isn’t that kind of the point of these, ie they can open whatever you put it around… Oh also as some others have stated, the smell is very strong. Like burning rubber or putting your nose up to brand new car tires and taking a big wif. I wouldn’t want to keep them anywhere aside from tbe garage ... show more

    • Utter waste of money

Though I purchase a lot of products on Amazon, unless a product is unbelievably outstanding or of shockingly poor quality, I rarely write reviews. Regrettably, these wrenches fall squarely in the latter category. The rubber stinks. I mean, has a terrible odor that cannot be removed by time or human effort. I bought them on August 6. I let them air out for a week, no improvement. I called Amazon and asked if it would damage the wrenches to soak and/or wash them, and told them the products I was planning to use. The representative told me it would be safe to proceed. I washed and soaked them overnight in Dawn dishwashing liquid. Still sank. Soaked for a day in baking soda and water. No improvement. Tomato juice. C'mon, stuff works on skunk spray. It's gotta work on these, right? Nope. Last ditch, OdoBan. Nothing. As if all of that weren't enough of a product failure, the strap just broke on the larger wrench as I was attempting to open a 32 ounce water bottle with it. I should have returned the wrenches. The stench is so bad that you have to be careful where you place them so it's not noticeable as you go about your day. But I was desperate-ish. I have really bad arthritis in my hands and almost no strength. I need help opening the most simple things. The design of this product works for that purpose - as long as the product actually worked - and I was willing to put up with a lot of negatives in exchange for the one positive. Once even that failed, I could no longer make more excuses for these worthless pieces of garbage and thought I should warn folks. ... show more

    • Terrible smell

I wish there had been a warning about the terrible smell before I opened the package. The rubber straps seem like they have been soaked in some kind of petroleum product. The smell was filling my condo within minutes and I finally had to put them in a sealed ziploc bag. I had some large rubber casters for a scaffolding once that had that same smell and it never went away even after months of airing out the tires in storage. It gave me headaches, so I knew to get rid of these quickly. They wrenches otherwise seem very well made, so I expect that they will work well. But I shouldn't feel like I need to wear a gas mask and ventilate the room when I bring them out to use them. ... show more
