I like these magnetic trays better than the push-on types. Magnetic strength is adequate. Trays lay nicely in tool drawer.. And in my collection of sockets and thread gauges, RED is Metric and BLUE is SAE and these were the only products that I could find matching that convention.

Works for shallow and if you put mid depth sockets like Icon ones in the deep tray but a number of deep sockets flop around in the oversized holes and will fall out when held on its side let alone upside down. Tried on OEM tools and Toptul chrome sockets with the same effect. Fine for sitting in a tool chest but not great if you plan on taking them out.

I use SAE and Metric sockets every day to do routine maintenance and repair on tripods, trollies, light rigs, scaffolds and all the other gear that a busy photo/video studio needs to do our jobs. And I HAVE sockets... EVERYWHERE! Entire sets of sockets in toolboxes, rolling tool chests, and sockets loose in various drawers. Review of B0DSVJ85XX - SEDY 2-Piece SAE Magnetic Socket Organizer Set: I have several socket organizers of the clip type but they leave a lot to be desired: it's a small struggle to get the clips to let go of the sockets, and they have no indications of the sockets size. I have a hard time reading the sizes stamped onto the sockets without good light and sometimes reading glasses. I usually have to depend on the position in the organizer to make it obvious the next smaller or larger size. This organizer set has the size clearly imprinted which makes selecting the desired size much easier. And, with the sockets held in magnetically, it gives up the socket without a fight. My favorite organizer is a triple row magnetic organizer made exactly like this but much smaller and made for hex screwdriver bits. I love that thing -- it's held tightly to the metal frame of my workbench so all my bits are right at hand. Since this is made exactly like it, I'm sure it will prove to be just as convenient attached inside my big metal toolbox. Just a note: the listing says, and some reviewers say, that this organizer is for 1/2" sockets. The only thing that makes it for 1/2" sockets is that the sizes are large, going from 7/8" to 1-1/4" and such large sockets would only be found in 1/2" drive. Since the sockets are held in magnetically, you can put 3/8" sockets in it just as easily, and you don't even have to follow the size inscriptions -- you can come up with your own organization. The top is plastic and the base is a rubberized plastic embedded with magnetic particles. It is strongly magnetic, both on the sockets and whatever ferric material you attach it to. Like I said, it's made exactly like my bit organizer and that is still going strong for at least six years now. Now I need this exact product for metric as well, and sized for 3/8 and 1/4" sockets.
