Description

Why do we use the more costly etching process for frosted protectors? Sandblasting process: tiny quartz sand particles are sprayed on the transparent glass by specific means to produce a matte finish effect. Etching process: the surface of transparent glass is etched with specific chemical reagents to produce a matte finish effect. The disadvantage of the sandblasting process is that it is difficult to achieve high quality and uniform spraying, and the quartz sand attached to the surface is more easily dislodged by external friction. Therefore, the frosted tempered glass may have the following two disadvantages: 1) the surface is excessively rough causing a serious loss of screen clarity and wear of the Apple pen tip; 2) the glass surface has almost no matte finish effect, resulting in the anti-fingerprint not lasting, or even failing to achieve the anti-glare and anti-fingerprint effect. On the contrary, the etching process is a chemical reagent corrosion process, so the product quality is more stable. The matte surface effect of its glass surface is moderate, which can maintain good clarity and also achieve the effect of anti-glare and anti-fingerprint, and can reduce the wear and tear of the Apple pencil. Important: It's a mild matte finish. Although it doesn't have quite the same drawing-on-paper-feel as matte plastic protectors, the matte glass is much better than glossy glass. I am the biggest fan of this company and their screen protectors. I first got a screen protector of theirs back in 2020 for my 2020 iPad Pro. I used the Pro very heavily for my university studies. That tablet was thrown into backpacks, dropped screen-first on multiple occasions, and written on with pencils (both apple pencils and otherwise, don’t ask). It has held up remarkably well as expected. The screen protector gives a paper like look to the iPad without the friction from similar screen protectors. This makes it easier to write on the ipad in my opinion. The screen clarity is not affected terribly by the matte finish, in my opinion it’s actually quite clear. It’s hard to describe what it feels like without actually feeling it, but it’s so SOFT. Almost silky. It doesn’t really have the friction and grittiness of real paper, but it works well enough on my iPad mini. It definitely has a bit more grit than the regular iPad screen and the Apple Pencil feels good on it. I rarely use the iPad outside in the sun, so I’m not sure how it is in natural bright lighting, but I’ve never had a problem with visibility indoors. Installation is straight forward and I love that it gives a frame to set up. Be aware that the frame might not be perfectly aligned and that the screen protector is a few millimeters short from the edges of the iPad mini screen. Mine isn’t perfectly centered, but it’s good enough for me and doesn’t drive me up a wall. I haven’t had any problems with bubbles with installation. The screen has a bit of a thickness to it, but it doesn’t affect my drawing on Procreate or handwriting in notes. All in all, I love it. When I saw the price and reviews on this, I was excited! Application was a breeze. As long as you follow the instructions (both in paper and video format), you will have a professional-like application look. After about a month of use (mostly e-reading and note taking), the screen still looks brand new. I love that the screen does not collect fingerprints and smudges like classic screen protectors, and minimizes glare. It truly feels like writing/touching paper, but in the best way. For those of you who are worried about losing color/picture quality, I have not noticed a difference. I got these specific screen protectors for my IPad Mini 7 because there is someone on Tik Tok that highly recommends this brand. I have always heard of matte screen protectors and for a while I thought that they didn't serve much of a purpose.... I was wrong. I purchased these screen protectors for my IPad Mini because I wanted something that was more "Paperlike" and less glossy since I take a lot of notes on my IPad for school and my business. I love the fact that these are matte glass screen protectors and not just a matte film that goes over your screen. The installation was very easy because of the alignment tool provided that makes everything so much more seamless. The matte finish reduces the glare of sunlight and bright lights so the reflection doesnt hurt your eyes or bother you, one of my favorite things about this is that it does not show fingerprints or smudges on your screen, I know it may not sound that important but fingerprints, smudges, and oil are one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to my phone, IPad, and laptop. Taking notes on my IPad with this screen protector is so easy because my apple pencil isn't sliding all over the screen due to the default glossy screen of the IPad. This screen protector also makes reading outside on a nice sunny day easy because it reduced the glare coming off of the screen so your'e not getting blinded by the angles of the sun. I am a big fan of this screen protector. Installation was pretty easy, although I’ve installed dozens of tempered glass screen protectors so I have experience. The instructions state if you have air bubbles to gently lift the edge of the protector to get rid of them or something along those lines. I personally would not do so. Plenty of times I’ve messed up tempered glass screen protectors doing that, I had two air bubbles installing this one about the size of a thumb print. I gently and repeatedly put medium pressure, and rubbed the air bubbles out using the provided cloth. It takes patience and time, but you certainly can rub most air bubbles out doing this. Now as for the texture I’m a big fan. It’s smooth. My iPad mini looks awesome especially with black wallpapers and on dark mode. I will say I’m not a huge fan of this screen protector on mostly white backgrounds for example on the Amazon app. It certainly looks grainy while on a white screen, but is plenty readable and useable still. I’m a big fan of dark mode as I have very sensitive eyes and it’s terrific on black backgrounds. This protector really helps my eye strain. Do yourself a favor and install this protector on a flat clean surface with no fans or breeze blowing. Take your time cleaning your screen, carefully checking for any smudges. Certainly use the dust removal stickers after the cleaning. Double check for any dust or smudges. Enjoy your new beautiful matte iPad. :) ... show more

Very good quality. I used both of my screens on each of my ipad minis (A17 Ipad Mini pro 7th gen). The installation was easy but the frame for some reason kept coming off while i was trying to remove the lint with sticker provided. The screens are sturdy and feel great with the pen.
