These are good enough for the price. Fits 24X36 movie posters easily without extending the tube, which is what I was looking for. Plastic is thick enough to prevent damage from most light weight accidents. It's not thick enough for anything really heavy. It isn't meant to stop liquid from getting inside. There are no seals or gaskets. The inside is not a smooth cylinder. It's molded, so the inside pretty much matches the outside. Bought these for 2 of my longer fishing poles. Most of the other products I looked at weren't long enough and cost more. My ultralight pole is a 2 piece 7' model and my medium-heavy pole is a 8' 2 piece model. By expanding the tubes, I was able to fit my poles, which are perfect for storing them. To keep the poles safe while traveling I used a pole noodle split in half and placed the pole sections on it, tying them with string to the noodle to prevent them from bouncing around inside the tubes. The media could not be loaded. Bought these to store craft wood strips and long dowel rods. The tubes are sort of easy to unlock, but they are harder to lock back into place as it took a while to find a notch that would catch. The most frustrating was getting items out as there is a sharp inner lip edge that prevented the adjusting of the tubes as items inside got caught underneath this lip. I have a number a somewhat large (30-40"wide x 30-70" long) neoprene mats that I use as table covers and play areas [maps, layout aids, etc.] for various board games. These roll up and fit very nicely for carrying in storage tubes similar to these. Unfortunately the very largest and thickets of these mats don't quite fit in some of the other, more narrow tubes that I've got, without tightly rolling them up and forcing them in after a great deal of time and effort. This carrying tube, however, makes it possible to store my largest mats with just a normal amount of effort to roll them up and get them inserted into the tube. I'm very happy with this purchase to handle those extra large mats and it is worth the extra price for when I need it, otherwise I can just stick with the more narrow tubes that I already have. ... show more

Keeps my card playmats safe. 4 out of 5 for them being usable and looking well. As far as wear and tear these are probably not up to the task. Mine never leave my house so they won't ever get broken. But in terms of checking them for flights or constant travel you'll need to spend a little more and get something a little thicker.
