Liked the strong construction, extendable and contractable feature with useful connections to work out of the box. Well thought out package. I had to figure out the connector as it appeared to be a limitation that the barrels cannot rotate; but the connector does when loosened. I ordered these desk mounts to be able to use them with my LED lights when taking product photos for reviews. They work very well for that and are very well machined. They feel very solid and some nice touches, like having silicone pieces for both parts of the mounting clamp. The lock down tightly and my LED lights, which aren't terribly heavy, feel very secure on them. They come with cell phone mounts that are made of solid plastic. They seem durable and I like that they aren't spring loaded but use a threaded knob to tighten and loosen the part that holds the phone. It, also, comes with a couple of ball heads but they are pretty lightweight and I wouldn't trust much on them. The only thing that I didn't expect is that you can't rotate the any of the sections. Typically, with light stands you can rotate the upper section so that you can have your light facing the direction you want. With these, you cannot rotate them so you have to loosen the light mount and rotate the light itself. It's not a deal breaker but wasn't something I expected. All in all, I would call this a good deal for this package. ... show more

Really like these stands! When I got them they were $24 for the pair, and it seems they're $34 now. I still think they're probably worth it. You get both stands, two ball heads, and two phone stands. The stands have good adjustability and range. The ball heads and phone stands are nothing to write home about but they're better than nothing and work fine. The desk clamp is strong and sturdy. The twist locks for height adjustment are fine. I do wish they included little ticks so I could match heights, but it's fine as is. ... show more

    • Easy to attach, adjust, and sturdy stand
These stands are quick to adjust. At each of the "joints" there's a rubber grip that can be used to tighten and hold the height of the stand. The stand itself has a matte black finish and is made of metal. I put ~10 lbs on the stand it holds up to it without wobbling. The stand is fairly light as well. There are some accessories it comes with that are extremely convenient to have to support a greater variety of equipment, so great to have with the stands. I use one primarily to quickly set up a workspace for testing equipment or temporary recording stations and quickly tearing it down. It works very well for that. I use the other one permanently hold up a camera (~1 lb). , which has held up for >30 days at this point. ... show more

    • Impressive in both versatility and strength
These felt super light when I first took them out of the box which made me think there wouldn't be a great deal of strength. After mounting them to my desk I attached a variety of different things from my phone to different key lights to a camera and they held up great. There was now bowing or flexing. The stands didn't try to collapse or lean. The clamp held strong as well. Fully collapsed they stand about 16" and fully extended they're about 41" (which is way taller than it sounds when mounted to your desk.) This provides a lot of flexibility in getting that just right angle for whatever you're working with. I wasn't overly impressed with the phone holders that came with this kit, but I suppose they don't have to be exceptional if they will hold a phone. The threads at the top are the common 1/4 20 that you find on basically all camera gear. I have noticed that most light manufacturers have stuck to this same size and that makes things much easier when it comes to using one mount for a lot of different kit.
