In this case I use the 2.4G Wireless Lavalier Microphone with a Nikon D7500. This Lavalier Mic nest comfortably and securely in the standard hot shoe. The unit comes with two different audio input cords. One for mobile devices and the others for Cameras. Pros: Precision fit, wireless, great distance and audio clarity. Mounting options (clip or hot shoe) Cons: The sock tends to come off easily so be careful. All around excellent buy and great tool to have handy. I have fought from day one to get these things to work. The transmitter/receiver units die frequently, and have no way of showing low battery. In addition the plugs are all garbage, and constantly create static when the transmitter is moved around (such as when clipped to clothing.) The microphone has finally died completely, as nothing I can do with the plug will allow it to establish a proper connection to the transmitter. Works great, but be mindful not to point the tx and rx antennas in opposite directions. Also, if you are using this with a cell phone, note that you need to unplug the receiver from the phone before reviewing you videos or they'll be mute. This happened on both the iphone and android phone I tested and at first I thought no audio was being recorded. Overall, this system works as described and at a good price. I love the ease of use once you get it set up. There’s another cord that you need if you’re going to use it with an iPhone, but once you get the adapter it’s super easy to navigate. It also works perfectly with my Sony Alpha dslr. The sound is great and super crisp!
