I have nothing against this helmet, I have had it for over a year and its a good price for what its worth. DEFINITELY get a size smaller I will explain why later on. I bought a medium size helmet and it fit well. I am a 5 10 male with an average size head I would say. The helmet fit perfect (a little too snug at first which is you what you want before breaking it in) but after about 6 hours of riding the padding is more loose and is definitely TOO loose. I will compare this to a BILT helmet I got at cycle gear for around 80$ which was also a medium. The 1Storm helmet is not good at all at canceling out wind noise, over 45 MPH it becomes quite annoying (compared to the BILT which does a much better job). Its not bad and I recommend wearing earplugs on rides over 5 minutes anyway with any helmet. Also another big thing is the exterior size of the helmet, it is a bit larger then other helmets of higher quality (over 80+ from a good brand like my BILT) which causes wind to pull your head a good amount more when going highway speeds or when windy. Also the helmet is a bit heavier then higher quality helmets (over 80+ from a good brand like my BILT) it weighs a pound or two more then my BILT helmet and this makes it hard to wear for a long time and pulls your head more with wind noise. The flip down tint visor works great and the visor is very stiff and tight and doesn't flip up with high speeds which is great. I would definitely recommend this helmet for a larger size head. I would go see what fit very snug at a local shop, lets say a large fits you very snug at your shop, then buy a medium of this helmet. For cruising and with earplugs its a good helmet for the price, but if you ride a lot and go over 75+ MPH just get a cheap simple good brand helmet. As my first helmet from Amazon. I was kind of scared for quality. But honestly it’s extremely comfortable and is worth it. I use mine all the time and the added sun visor is a huge plus. It’s cool and is very comfortable.

I had read the pros & cons of carbon fiber vs other materials and opted for the carbon fiber version of this helmet. (There are cons, so advise you research and decide for yourself). Compared to my other helmets...it's noticeably lighter in weight. That factor very much adds to the comfort level. Have to say...this helmet also fits as good or better than my HJC, or any other helmet I've owned. The two features that drew me to this helmet (beyond the great price) were the drop down sun shade & the quick release strap. I'm spoiled now. Both features are better than I imagined they would be. I don't have to wear transitional lenses or sunglasses under my helmet anymore. Easily flips up or down with gloves on. Same goes for the air vents and the chin strap. I'm a rider who likes to ride with or without a helmet. This thing is so user friendly & comfortable, I find I'm riding more with it on. Maybe that's a good thing. ... show more

You have had expensive helmets and cheap helmets. This was by far the most comfortable and affordable helmet yet. The padding is wonderful the trigger for the tinted lens is very discreet and easy to use. I did wish it had a chin wind blocker but I just used one off of an old helmet. It helped to cut back on wind noise. i ordered a large with what I feel is an average size noggin and was happy so go by the size chart and reconendations ... show more
