Just purchased my first motorcycle and like many other first-timers, I was looking to save a little money on the safety equipment rather than step down on the bike or save up more funds. First off, probably not the best idea. Having said that, the reviews were really good on this helmet so I decided to give it a shot. My first impression was excellent, it comes well packaged and even has a drawstring protective bag that covers the helmet. Not sure if I plan to use it, maybe when I store it over the winter months, but it was a nice touch. The build quality is solid and nothing really feels "cheep" compared with other budget helmets I've looked at in-store. It's also DOT certified (most are) so it at least provides a certain level of protection. I really like the modular design as well, as it helps with that claustrophobic feeling I get when first putting on the helmet and makes make it easier to take off as well. It fits snuggly and the materials inside feel well made and plush. Not exactly soft but comfortable. Love the idea of the flip-down sun visor but in practice, it didn't work as well as I would have liked. The mechanism works fine, I just didn't like the optics as much. The vents work well while riding, allowing air to circulate and help keep down the claustrophobia I mentioned earlier. Once stopped, the clear visor opens easily to prevent fogging and closes just as easily once I begin to pick up speed. It also has a nice audible click that lets me know it's fully closed. The chin strap is adjustable to get a snug fit and releases easily, even with my gloves still on. There are only 2 real drawbacks that I've encountered. The first being wind noise. Other reviews have made mention of this as well, and it's justifiable. Not horrible, but definitely noticeable, especially once you get to highway speeds or pretty much anything over 50 mph. I also purchased earplugs, so not a deal-breaker for me at least. The second issue is actually the smell. I'm 100% certain it will dissipate over time. With the plastics and coatings, and the fact that it's probably right out of the shipping container it came in, it's to be expected. It's not unpleasant or "stinky", it just smells like new plastics. I have a very acute sense of smell, so it's probably more of a personal issue, but I figured I'd mention it all the same. I currently have it fully opened up in my hall closet allowing it to air out. Should be good to go in a couple of days. Anywhos, if you made it this far, congratulations and thank you. Hopefully, my review is helpful in some way. I'm a big fan of this helmet and if I haven't convinced you yet, take this into consideration. Not much to say about a cheap helmet, but this one is bang for the buck. Controls work, don't feel cheap. Looks great, nothing tacky. Installed the fancy spoiler in the back, no problem. Put the double-sided stickers on (3M!), center it, peel the other side of the stickers, mash it on, screw in it. Came with an extra screw and stickers. Cheapo cloth carry bag as well! If you're rolling 150mph+, maybe take some time and investigate a better helmet? I have no idea, just rolling around town and dirt roads, more than good enough for me. ... show more

Full disclosure, I have a huge Mister Met sized noggin and I don't fit most hats or helmets very well. This guy is SUPER comfortable and fits perfecty well on my oversized melon. VERY pleased with that aspect of it. The one note I have is that sometimes the mandible has trouble seating all the way down when you close it; it kind of hangs up on the cheek frame area and you have to wiggle it around a bit to get it to jump past there and latch in. Not all the time, but enough that it is a minor annoyance. Fogs up a bit too depending on conditions but that can't really be helped; there are enough vents and the ability to crack the visor up a bit to the first detent helps alleviate that when stopped. ... show more

Couldn't find my Aria helmet after not riding for two years. My Shoei helmet was so old that face shields were no longer available. So I bought this helmet. I found my Aria helmet and had every intention of returning this helmet, however I really like this helmet. Nice looking, comfortable, medium size a perfect fit like my other helmets. Everything seems quality. The flip down sun visor is needed. Being made of plastic was my only concern, but it feels solid and it is certified. Spending 300 plus dollars for a helmet is impossible for many So I am thankful for this affordable helmet. ... show more

When I started looking for a new helmet I was shocked about the price of the so-called quality helmets. This 1Storm has all the essentials for a full coverage helmet and they all work as described. I am very pleased with this quality helmet for around $60 and perhaps will buy another for any guests that ride with me. Looks like I will get years out of this helmet and feel very safe in case of a fall. I did have to re-order a larger size. Said a medium would fit, but way too tight. This helmet is a great value. I will say that it’s noisy and kind of ‘clunky’ but for me it more than makes up for it by being very comfortable and I don’t have to remove my glasses to put the helmet on or to take it off. If you are doing a lot of Highway miles, or really anything over about 40 mph for most of your riding, the noise is noticeable. Foam earplugs are the solution. And this helmet is roomy enough by the ears to allow me to wear my earbuds with foam tips. This is great for getting turn by turn directions from my phone and/or to listen to tunes. By ‘clunky’ I mean the mechanics are crude and nothing operates totally smoothly like higher end (and more expensive helmets). For the price, this is a 5-star value. At this price if it lasts me a full year, I’d replace it with the another one of the same model. If it lasts more than a year, I’d consider it a bonus and do the same. If it doesn’t last a full riding season, I’d consider trying something else. For me, the sizing chart was accurate. ... show more

Easy on and off modular helmet. For the price worth it. Depending on brand I can fit well a medium or small. With this helmet I bought the medium but probably could have worn the small as the medium is "roomy". But maybe that will be good in the colder months to wear baclava under it. There is some wind noise, but it is a really comfortable helmet to wear. Maybe the small would be lighter weight, but the weight is not too bad.
