I've been wanting on of these for a while now! I love to decorate for the holidays outside, but living in Florida, it rains all year long! Having multiple extension cords outside can be a nightmare but now I can have the neat and safe in this IP54 water resistant outlet protector box! It comes in a brown cardboard box with a instruction guide(easy to read with pictures) and all necessary hardware. You have to assemble the snap on locks. They were easy to snap onto the box and seem to hold the box tight when clasped shut. It also came with two wire retainers which help you guide the extension cord into the box. The box is black which I love because you can hide it discreetly anywhere. The surface of it feels texturized and does a great job of repelling water. The sides of the box have black rubber like gasket flaps. These help keep water out where the extension cord meets the box. Overall I was pleased with the experience of both reading the instruction booklet and assembling the box. The box does exactly as it promises which is to keep water out and your electrical cords safe. If I had to complain about anything it would be that it’s kind of bulky(think a miniature tackle box). If you have multiple extension cords outside in different locations, this can get messy having mini tackle box’s all over the yard. ... show more

Sometimes outdoor projects require making electrical cord connections in damp locations. This box is great because you can securely connect two electrical cords in a waterproof chamber. The box is large enough to handle jumbo size plugs. The rubber gaskets at the end of the box hold a 12 gauge power cord, but 2 cords is a tighter fit. I am using this outside during summer to connect the power cord from a sump pump to a longer cord. The clips on the box allow a secure connection and a tight closure. I was surprised the box does not have a rubber gasket around the inside of the cover. Also, there is a warning on the instructions not to submerge in water or bury underground. The box must remain flat on level ground to avoid water penetration. This is enough for my setup, but if you need a 100% waterproof enclosure, keep searching. ... show more

This is a convenient box for protection from the elements. Nothing terribly exciting. I wish it could handle an extra cable or two coming out of one end, but it will do for what I need. I will probably get a couple more for some lighting junctions, and look for another model for breaking out a three-way extension cord out of the elements. ... show more

I have gotten other boxes like this that have warped, so I am hoping this one won't. This one doesn't have a rubber gasket like the others I have. It is the size stated, but It seems small. It is better for covering connections than it is for putting a power strip in it. I am sure I will find some kind of use for it, but at the moment my bigger ones are more useful. I usually wrap my connections in some type of plastic bag that never really works that well, but what do you do. Well now after receiving this product I have my solution. I tested it by sprinkling water from the hose on it and there was zero intrusion of water. after 5 minutes, I was watering the grass . I now have my solution during the holidays, no more resetting GFCI outlets when they trip. This can be used in many different situations, due to the solid build. There is a rubber gasket on the lid that when clamped down it will seal the unit, although not to be used for burying or underwater as its not water tight, but very well built for sitting in rain as long as it does not end up underwater. They also added some screw mounts which are very convenient to get your connection point up off the ground. Very well thought out product and a solid solution for me. ... show more

Works great for my needs. Using a wifi device (Remootio) to allow mobile / remote control of driveway gate. It uses a short USB cable / wall charger connection for power. Needed to provide waterproof protection for extension cord / wall charger connection. Connection is exposed to the outdoor elements / water, but never standing water. So this was perfect for my needs, there is more than enough room inside box for this single connection. Mounted it alongside gate operator control box. However, if you needed protection for more than a single connection (i.e multiple wall plugs) you'd be hard pressed to get the connections to fit as most outdoor extension cords with multiple outlet heads would probably exceed available internal space (by width not length). Keep that in mind and you shouldn't be disappointed. ... show more

This is such a great product especially for all holiday lighting needs. I no longer have to wrap a plastic grocery bag over extension cords anymore! This outdoor electrical box is designed great and the materials used are of high quality. The black case blends in great and doesn’t stand out at all which is better than using a white grocery bag.
