The air handler inside my house was leaking air because the original foil tape had come apart. This works well to seal the old tape. I am not sure why some decided to heat it immediately and see if it sticks. I think all tape with glue backing has a solvent that needs time to dry - perhaps days or even weeks.

Used a lighter to light it on fire and it did not readily burn and went out quick. Then stuck it to the table and used the lighter to warm it up good and the adhesive did not peel readily either. Was just as sticky as when applied which is pretty good adhesion. Hopefully it will be good for my intended use.

Used it to reinforce closing a duct return with foil tape; and wrap insulation around the hot water pipe from the water heater, sits 2~3" from the chimney/flue and has not shown any signs heat degradation. However, it does not stick very well. Even if e.g. the duct has been cleaned with alcohol, it seems to start peeling quickly.

Works. It is reflective and seems to work for shielding too. I got it originally to reflect light in gaps in my grow setup but I just used some for cable shielding to cut down on EMF on my microphone and I am pretty sure there is less white noise now.

Hmm, I really like this tape; I wanted it to work so badly. It felt nice, aluminum, fiber reinforced, not too flimsy, but light enough that it wrapped and conformed nicely to every surface bend and twist. ...then I turned on the heat, and it all peeled off. I bought it to seal some seams in my chimney venting (way below 600°), and it said it could, but as soon as the pipe heated up a bit, all of this tape peeled off.
