Description
Introducing the Random Year (Type 1 or Type 2) 1/4 oz American Gold Eagle coin, featuring a mix of various years in the American Gold eagle series (1986 - Present). In 1985 the “Gold Bullion Coin Act” was signed by former President Ronald Reagan to regulate the production and set the value, dimensions and design of the bullion series. The gold used in the minting of the coins was required to originate from newly mined domestic sources. Manufactured by the esteemed U.S. West Point Mint, this product sports a a warm, metallic gold hue within its Gem Uncirculated condition. Made from 1/4 troy ounce of 91.67% gold (22 karat), the Gold Eagle is legal tender, backed by the United States Government with a face value of ten dollars (USD). The obverse (heads) features a version of Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ full-length figure of Liberty with flowing hair, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. With the latest design and minting technology, this iconic image is now showcased with extraordinary clarity and intricate detail. The reverse (tails) design features a portrayal of a majestic eagle, with Type 1 (1986-mid-2021) designs featuring an eagle in flight, and Type 2 (Mid-2021-Present) designs featuring a side profile of a bald eagle. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "IN GOD WE TRUST," "10 DOLLARS," and "1/4 OZ. FINE GOLD." The coin edge features an innovative reeded pattern variation for heightened security, signifying authenticity. This coin in particular is graded Gem Uncirculated by Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), maintaining a high-quality grade within it's sealed holder to preserve its condition. Gold Eagles are highly recognized and easily traded, with dealers typically offering high bid prices due to their popularity.
