I used this to make cloches for my lettuces and strawberry plants, to allow pollinators in while keeping birds and chipmunks out. I’d never used this before and had to buy some tin snips which made it easy to cut. I then got some thin wire (22 gauge I believe) and twisted to connect the ends. This whole roll cost less than a single cloche would and I can easily make 10 of them. Attaching a pic of my first one. It may not be pretty but it gets the job done and I figured out how to do it all better with each subsequent one. I may take what’s left and arch it over my elevated garden, to protect everything while it’s small and extra vulnerable, and expect I’ll be able to reuse these all for many years. The ones I’ve made have only been outside about a week and a half but it’s rained most of that time and no signs of rust or issues. I wish I’d thought of this sooner as it’s a great deal, especially compared to all the premade garden protectors out there.

I bought the Gardeal Hardware Cloth (16In*50FT) to protect my kittens in my Arizona desert yard from rattlesnakes. I installed it along the bottom of my fence. The 1/2 inch mesh is small enough to block even tiny snakes, and the 19-gauge galvanized steel feels sturdy and rust-resistant, holding up well in the desert heat. It was easy to cut with tin snips and install, though the edges are sharp—wear gloves! Since putting it up, no rattlesnakes have gotten in, and my kittens can play safely. It also keeps out gophers. Highly recommend for desert pet owners!

Purchased to create an arch in my vegetable garden and this wire exceeded all expectations. It arrived well-packed, with all the pieces included and clear instructions (a small miracle in itself). Once assembled, it looks absolutely lovely. I wove some climbing tomatoes through it, and it’s already transformed the vibe of my backyard. It gives off a whimsical cottagecore.
