My son bought this for his best friend's birthday. His friend loved it, as htey are both fans of "old school" games. It isn't super fancy, but the buttons are responsive and it seems to perform well. They both enjoyed playing the games on it after he opened it.

The screen also has clear picture quality. Although it is small in size, it has a good experience and feels good. The 3 game cards that come with the game console give him more choices, and the game console is rechargeable, has a long battery life, and is easy to carry. You can play at home or out. This handheld game console is a great gift for my kids. Its has big screen, clear and colorful, and it doesn't strain the child's eyes. The built-in 230 HD games are a great variety of adventures, puzzles, and lots of fun mini-games, and even extendibility for more game choices, which is a great bonus! One thing I really like about this console is that it's easy to carry around, thus my kids could enjoy their favorite games anywhere no matter it is in car or outdoor camping. Also, it's rechargeable so I don't have to buy batteries which is so convenient. Of course we still need to encourage kids to play outdoor instead of enjoy electric games for hours.

Can't complain too much for a 16-bit gaming console but I'd say it's not great for younger kids. I got it for my 4-year-old nephew and 6-year-old niece and it's probably better for kids aged 8 and up. It has built-in games but they aren't easy to get to. It has a decent battery life. It could be a fun thing to distract kids with if you get it setup for them.
