I bought this because I needed a large duffel for climbing Kilimanjaro. I made it to the top, and this bag served me well. It's sturdy, pretty strong fabric, the handles are pretty heavy duty, I had no problems with the zipper. And it folds up surprisingly small for such a large duffel. It does have a water resistant coating on the inside, so it would resist some light rain, but I would definitely not call it waterproof, and the zipper is not water tight. Everything I put inside this bag went inside another large plastic bag first so I didn't have to worry about the rain.
