  • Great value
Works really well. It's small but does the job. I'm very happy.

  • Okay for light welding or getting started as a beginner
I’m an amateur welder at best and my skill and frequency of needs does not warrant purchasing an expensive welder. As such, I believe I represent the target market for the Futelo MIG-150pro. It’s inexpensive and lightweight, two characteristics that I definitely like! Upon receiving the box, you’re greeted with “specifigations” (yes, that’s how it’s spelled on the box) that highlights it can support MIG, TIG and MMA/Stick welding, however, the contents of the box only contains MIG and MMA/Stick electrodes. If you want to try TIG, you’ll need to source the TIG electrode from somewhere else. In addition to the electrodes and the welder itself, the contents includes one roll of 2lbs flux core MIG wire and 4 or 5 MMA sticks. The 2lbs role of MIG wire represents the largest role of wire it supports so if you want to use a larger roll so you’re changing wire less often, you will be out of luck, however, by limiting its capacity to 2lbs, it keeps the machine nice and light while the wire is loaded. Additionally, the included MIG electrode does not support an inert gas, so your welds will only ever be as nice as “flux core” can give you (ie, hobbyist level). The safety equipment included I would not recommend using at all! The gloves are super thin and provide no heat protection and only minor “splash” detection. Spend a few bucks and buy a cheap set of welding gloves!!! Additionally, the included eye protection is a pair of cheap dark “sunglasses.” These things are junk on so many levels. Invest in a 40 or 50 dollar helmet and you will not only enjoy welding better, but you will be protecting your face from the radiation that generated from electric welding (you’re essentially making a miniature sun when you arc weld and just like the real sun, UV rays get generated). As for usage, the device is very easy to set up and use. Inside the side door cover is a routing diagram on how to feed in .8 or .9 diameter wire as well as indicating how to wire up the electrodes if you’re using MIG or MMA/Stick. Note, that the included instructions are adequate in terms of describing the machine, but do not teach you how to weld. Watch a few youtube videos to get started! As for welding itself, the specs mention it has a 60% duty cycle, which means that while you’re using it, you’ll need to take a break 40% of the time and sit and let the machine cool itself down. For small hobby projects, this isn’t a problem at all. The other limitation is that this device is 110v only which ultimately limits how much current you can push through the electrodes. The repercussions of this is that you will not be welding thick plates together, but, again, for the hobbyist, this isn’t too big of a deal. For example, I won’t be using this for repairing farm implements, but I would definitely use this to repair fences, gates, birdfeeders, etc. To sum up, even though this appears to have everything you need to get started with welding, I would highly recommend spending a bit more to better protect your hands and face, but, in terms of using this machine to decide if you like welding or to tackle some repair projects that have been adding up, this machine will do fine! ... show more

  • Essential
I like this product for several reasons. One, there is always a place in a rural home for repairs. Having a relatively low powered light weight welder is a must. Two, qualified welders make good money. This is a great teaching tool to let a teen gain practical experience that will benefit them their entire lives(with appropriate supervision). This welder comes with everything needed to get you going, except for the actual work pieces. Making this an awesome value. Completely setup for variable power settings and for mig/tig welding. Allowing it to handle a variety of light welding tasks ... show more

  • Good budget welder
This welder is a great option for anyone needing a versatile machine. It handles MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, which makes it perfect for different types of metal repair. The synergy feature is a big plus—it automatically adjusts settings for smoother welds, and the large LED display makes everything easy to read. It’s lightweight and portable, so moving it around the shop or job site is no problem. For the price, the performance and build quality are impressive. If you need a reliable welder that’s simple to set up and use, this one is worth it. Good value for the money if you're looking for a beginners welding machine. ... show more

  • Great 110v welder, good for small welding jobs and light metal work.
First end I'm no the best welder in the world and I don't do it professionally by any means however I'm now slowch. This machine definetly takes a minuet to find where the sweet spot is depending on your filler and metal type and gauge. Although it puts out good consistent welds to get really really stong welds you have go back over it a time or two. All of the equpiment that it comes with works well for being such a cheap welder. The consistency of welds that occur I did notice depends on what else is being used on the same breaker zone and I got my best results by turning everthing else off as there can be some dips and bad welding that happens if you have something else on such as a heater, swamp cooler or even just a sound system so if you're getting not the best welds try making sure you've identified every outlet that is attached to the breaker youre going to be welding from and turn everything else off. (I also live in an older house that needs electrical updating) All in all this is a great little welder to use in smaller spaces or if you don't have room for the full setup and don't want to add a 220V section to your house and don't plan on wleding frequently. ... show more

  • Excellent little welder that performs above it's class.
When I first pulled this "tiny" welder from the box I thought to myself - no way! But, after taking the 20 minutes to assemble it and put it to first use I was impressed. The looks of this little welder are deceiving. It works great - very easy to use!. I've used it so far to repair thin metal panels on my wife's metal yard art. quick little taps on the trigger welded the thin sheets securely but without just burning holes right through them. I also use the MIG on welding pieces of 1/2" rebar. In all cases the welds were solid and secure. My only gripe would be that the display isn't bright enough. I had a very hard time reading the settings on a bright day. That aside... this unit works great. At the currently listed price of $89 - a great value and would make a terrific present! ... show more
