  • Tire Spoons Kit: A Budget-Friendly Helper for DIY Bike Maintenance
As a relative newcomer to bike maintenance, I’ve been working to familiarize myself with the tools of the trade. Since converting my mountain bike into a hybrid electric model, tire maintenance has become an unavoidable necessity. When it came time to replace inner tubes and install puncture shields, the Rpeconu 15" Tire Spoons Kit proved to be a functional and affordable solution. This kit helped me successfully remove two tires, swap out the inner tubes, and add puncture protection with minimal fuss. I’ve always found tire spoons a bit tricky to use, but these worked reasonably well. The spoons occasionally had more flex than I would have liked, which left me questioning their durability. That said, they held up for the task at hand, and I didn’t encounter any breakages. The handles, while serviceable, do feel somewhat cheap. For someone who only tackles tire changes occasionally, this wasn’t a dealbreaker. Comfort and premium construction aren’t high priorities for a tool I use infrequently. If these spoons eventually give out, they’re affordable enough to replace without regret. What impressed me most was the breadth of the kit. It includes rim protectors, a valve tool, valve cores, and valve covers, making it a versatile set for addressing common tire issues. While I primarily picked it up for the tire spoons, the extra components are a thoughtful addition that add value to the overall package. Despite its minor shortcomings, this kit got the job done. It’s a solid choice for DIYers like me who need a practical, budget-friendly solution for occasional bike maintenance. Four stars for affordability and functionality, with room for improvement in durability and ergonomics. ... show more

  • Beautiful and strong
These tire spoons are beautiful and strong. They have nicely-shaped tips for prying a tire off a rim without damaging the rim. The longer length makes them easier to get the leverage you need, and the handles also help. I'm very pleased with this tool. The rim protectors are also sturdy. I've changed tires using only two spoons, but three is better. I've changed a lot of motorcycle tires in my life, and it is never easy and gets harder with age. However there are three main tips I can share that make it less hard. 1. Get the tire as warm as you can. Leaving it in the hot sun for an hour is best. Warmer rubber is more supple, and this will help a lot. 2. Use lubricant all around the rim and bead of the tire. Liquid soap works and is cheap, or buy special tire changing lube if you like. 3. Always watch the opposite end of the tire from where you are working and placing the tire spoon. Make sure the bead on the opposite end is pushed into the center of the tire, not resting on the rim shoulder. Sometimes using a C-clamp on the opposite end of the rubber tire helps to keep the tire bead pushed in away from the rim shoulder. ... show more
