This charging cable is nearly identical to the Apple charging cable that came with my 2021 MacBook Pro. The USB-C connector is slightly shorter, about 1/8th of an inch, compared to the Apple charger, but aside from that, it works and functions the same way. I even tested it with a USB-C tester, and it draws the same current and supplies the same voltage as the Apple-branded cable. The only issue I encountered was during the first use of this cable. Initially, my MacBook didn't seem to charge when I plugged it in with this cable. I started charging using the factory Magsafe cable, and it began charging. Then, when I switched back to this cable, it worked perfectly fine. I'm not sure what caused that initial hiccup, but I haven't experienced any issues with it since. I also tested it with a USB-C tester, and the power output was nearly identical. I've attached images above to illustrate the difference between this cable and the factory cable. This is one of the better MagSafe 3 third party cables I've encountered. I've recently picked up a MacBook Air M2 15", and nearly two decades after my first MagSafe-compatible laptop, it's great to have the MagSafe convenience factor back. The prices for Apple's first party cables are kind of crazy, though, so I've been shopping for a reliable alternative. This cable works like a standard MagSafe 3 cable, just like you'd expect it to. It snaps in place correctly, is reversible up and down, has a built in LED and generally looks very similar to the factory cable. I was able to fully charge my laptop with this cable without any problems. I did need to deduct a star for the magnets. While it works great and snaps in to place pretty aggressively when first attached to the computer, the connector can easily be pivoted up or down to break the connection with the computer. The stock cable does this, too, but the magnets hold it in place a lot easier. This isn't a dealbreaker - unlike some third party cables, this one does work fine with light movement, and the issues only come up when pivoting the connector. This isn't perfect, and if you want a cable that is, you should probably splurge on the Apple OEM cable. But as far as third party cables go, this one's a reasonably good one. ... show more

This is a great USB-C MagSafe 3.0 wire. It works perfectly for charging my MacBook. The magnetic hold isn’t any weaker than the OG Apple Mag 3.0, in my experience, and the braided fabric on the exterior of the cord is very similar as well. I love the presentation and packaging of this wire. A lot of other wires I’ve ordered online in the past have come in nothing more than a plastic baggie – and that’s okay since it doesn't affect my actual usage of the product. But an official presentation really makes a difference and will keep me coming back, especially if I need to replace my wire again (if you have small pets, beware, as they can easily chomp right through this). I received this today and immediately plugged it in. It works exactly like the OEM charge cord. If a cat, dog, or over eager vacuum destroyed your cord, this is the correct replacement. Recommended.

    • Great cable - a good deal for the $$
There's nothing special about this cable - and that's great news. It looks just like an Apple OEM cable. The ends are quality made, seem secure, are not loose. None of the internal wires are showing. This has quality wrap on it in the same way that Apple cables do. Plugged it into my 16" Macbook (I'm typing this on it now) and it worked just fine, no sparks, loose connections or any other problems. I would order this again, and may order multiples since I'm on my computer pretty much night and day and these things do eventually show wear over time as you wrap them up for carrying the laptop. ... show more
