Pretty easy installation and works like it should. It looks really good, as good as the popular (and more expensive) Apex Badlands in my opinion. I wish the instruction manual had more about the installation and less about how to use a winch but whatever, it’s not rocket surgery. The one real knock is that C clamp they use for the hook. You need a special tool to remove it. The two wireless remotes work with a little A23 battery. The corded remote works great. The hook and fair lead look great. Overall 5 star product extremely satisfied.

I bought this Xycle 13500 lb winch on sale for $350 plus tax in Feb 2026. I’ve never heard of Xycle and I could not find any website or info about this company online. I did find Xycle on Facebook Messenger and I was able to speak with their rep Wu. Wu tried, but communicating with Wu was challenging because his English was not great, so I kept having to explain my questions over and over. Sometimes, I never got answers to my questions. For about 80% of what I wanted to know, Wu was able to answer. The winch arrived packaged okay but not great… some of the foam packaging inside was broken apart, so the box had taken a beating, but nothing on the winch looked broken or damaged. I mounted the winch on a universal rear hitch cradle mount… it was a very very tight fit due to the winch wires sticking out and due to the mount bolts almost hitting the winch housing, but it fit with a lot of finessing. I respooled the synthetic cable using the wired remote and everything seemed to work fine, but there was hardly any load on it, so it was not an actual test of the winch. I need to test this winch in a real world application on the trail to know if it is worth my money and to see if it is actually waterproof and powerful up to 13500 pounds, and can last the test of time. After much discussion with Wu, Wu gave me a 3 year warranty on my winch which was really nice of him. Before buying this winch, I researched winches and various brands a lot online and I watched a ton of experts on YouTube. There are NO credible reviews of Xycle winches on YouTube - there is only a commercial video that repeats what the Amazon item description provides. I also found a video of someone claiming to use an Xycle winch, but you never see the actual winch to know if it is made by Xycle or see which model it is, so the video is very sus. I took this gamble buying an Xycle winch and I pray it pays off for me. I don’t think this company has a US location, a phone number, an address, or any of the basic things most other winch brands have to support their customers. Perhaps Xycle will one day; and, if they do, Xycle should provide this info, especially a working company phone number, in their Amazon item description. I can tell you that the winch I bought does operate and the fairlead and hook look solid. I do not know if the synthetic rope and motor are good or not, since I haven’t gotten to recover anything with the winch yet. There is NO manual inside the box. There is a catalog-looking advertisement that they give you, but I was shocked that you do not get an actual manual for the winch. So, it’s a bit of a mystery and I had to figure things out for myself. So, if you’re on a budget and you like to figure out things on your own and you don’t mind taking a $350 gamble, then this winch might be the one for you! In the future, after I use this winch to recover someone, I will share more details if “Amazon review” allows me to add an update. I did add a 00 gauge quick disconnect cables to my winch, so I could hook it up to my truck’s battery when in use. The two wires that the winch come with are not 0 gauge… I think they might be 2 gauge only. Note that the positive wire installed on the winch has a right angle battery terminal on the end that connects to the motor underneath the engine housing cover. The negative cable has a flat and normal battery terminal on it; it is not a right angle terminal.
