  • Gets hot fast, you can feel the heat rising up. I'm using in a 750 gallon pool
Seems to be well built, I went with the 1300w so I'm not making out and outlet

  • Get hot water when on demand when you most need it.
This 1300W Titanium submersible portable electric immersion water heater with temperature controller is a life saver. Got this to warm up water on demand when there's no hot water to bathe the kids. From time to time there's no hot water during the cold winters. This is a great solution for that problem. Submersible water heater is quality made, and functions as advertise. Water heats up faster than expected and temperature controller is very helpful to control water temperature. It's very low profile and electric cord is long enough for multiple needs. ... show more

  • Heats quickly. Nice temperature controller. Easy to Use.
This is a really cleanly designed product. I would definitely suggest getting an immersion heater with a temperature controller because these devises are essentially On or Off. Everything was well packaged and the controller was easy to use and already in Fahrenheit degrees. The plug extension, coming from the controller is lighted and all the cords are very heavy duty and well sealed. I don't know if the temperature controller is advertised as being IP waterproof, but it looks like it might be. I originally purchased this as a backup heater for my chicken watering system. Having the temperature controller and temperature sensor is key to making sure that the immersion heater doesn't run all the time or unnecessarily, as I really only need this to maintain the water temperature above freezing. The heating element has a plastic cage around it, which protects anything that that the element would otherwise come in contact with. If heating a small volume of liquid, there is some small amount of additional heating that takes place after the controller turns off, because of the thermal mass of the element itself. This will probably not be noticeable if you're heating more than 1/2 gallon of water or more. If heating a large volume of water, it may take a fairly significant amount of time. This is simply due to limitations of how much power you can pass through the elements and the size of the heater. At around 1300 W, this will push the limits of a standard 15A household circuit, so make sure that you're not running any high draw devices on the same circuit that you're using this heater on, or use a 20A circuit. ... show more

  • Incredible…I would give this more stars if I could!
The media could not be loaded. This is heavy duty and so well made. I cannot even begin to say enough good things about it. I wish I could give this 10 stars. The heater segment itself is 11” long which helps to give more surface area to heat the water much faster. It has a protective layer surrounding the heater to keep it from scalding you. It is rated to heat up to 300 gallons of water. That’s a whole lot of water! The temperature controller allows you to set the temp from 32-212 degrees and shows the current temperature of the water. It is so well made and heavy duty as well. It was so simple to use that I took it out of the box and could easily set it up. I filled my bathtub with 30 gallons of water in order to test how fast it could heat up that much water. Honestly, I was curious how well it would do and boy oh boy was I impressed. Within an hour it had increased the temperature 35 degrees. I started with 69 degree water and in an hour it was up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. I was pretty excited about this unit and the workmanship that clearly went into it. It just truly feels so solid and durable. There is nothing cheap about it. The plug to the heater also lights up in order to draw attention to the fact that it is plugged in and on and to see it even in the dark. I love this feature as so I can know it’s plugged in and working and I don’t accidentally remove the heater from the water before unplugging it. You MUST have this off before taking it out of the water. It is to be completely submerged when on! I give this such high recommendations for anyone needing to heat water. The ability for it to heat it quickly and the span of temp levels you can choose. It is amazing. Absolutely YES you should get this if you are looking for a water heater of this design! My props go out to this company! ... show more

  • Thermostat failed on 2nd use
I purchased this heater to warm water in a 5 gallon bucket to degrease skulls. I've used it twice, both times setting the temp to 105° to gently warm the water without damaging the skull or nasal turbinates. The 1st use was perfect. This last one, a couple of minths later, was a nightmare. About an hour after plugging the unit in and placing the probe in the water as near to the center of the bucket as possible, I went to check on it. It appears that the thermostat failed and never shut off the heater. The bucket, handle and water were scalding hot and untouchable. The skull had begun to separate at the sutures lines and ruined the integrity of the skull and it became unusable. I cannot recommend this heater and I suggest not using in an aquarium with live fish. A hot tub or large tub of water might be fine but please use caution around live animals, delicate projects, children and elderly people. ... show more

  • Good idea but needs revision
The rod heats up fast and seems top of quality construction. However, the temp controller fails to shut it off upon reaching set temperature. I think the problem is the sensor. I took off another star due to the lenght of the rod. Way too long, making it difficult to place and keep fully submerged in a standard 5 gallon bucket. ... show more

  • Heats up in a few mins
This was able to heat up a gallon of water from room temp to 100F in a few mins It comes with a temp gauge to power/turn off the heater as needed. I especially appreciate the anti-scald housing. Be careful of the area immediately surrounding the heating rod. It gets super hot.

  • Supplemental Heater
I got this to help aid our 110VAC hot tub heater out after changing the water. It does a good job, no complaints at all. We haven't used the hot tun with it still in the tub - doesn't seem safe. It's a well built heater and has done well for what we use it for.
