This is a cute, well made little tree, that fits perfectly into small spaces. The batteries make it possible to display this tree anywhere (mine is the centerpiece for my dining table). My only complaint is that even with fresh batteries, the interior bulb isnโ€™t bright enough to illuminate the entire tree. The closer you get to the top of the tree, the dimmer the colored surface bulbs get. The light barely reaches the star on top of the tree! I love this little tree. It stands 13 1/2 inches high including the star tree top and uses 3AA batterie, not included. The tree top is plastic and fits in a hole on top of the tree. If you use alkaline batteries, the lights will last longer. It also came with extra bulbs. I have one of the plug in ceramic trees also, but I like this one better. I have this one on my coffee table with some decorations and I really like the fact that if I want to move it someplace else, I wonโ€™t have to worry about looking for an electrical outlet. The only thing I find wrong is that you have to turn it on with a slide button on the bottom of the tree, so you have to tip it each time you want to turn it on. Not really a problem though. It came shipped very securely. It was packed in a styrofoam holder inside a box which I can use to store it in after Christmas. It also came in an Amazon box with lots of paper around it, so it was very well packed. It is nicely made of glass ceramic and very detailed. I really like this tree a lot, and think you would like it too if your looking for a small ceramic portable tree. PS.. I paid 21 dollars for mine. ... show more

Item is a nice size and packaged well. The only issue I had is that the hole on top for the star is the size of a nickel and the star is too slender. I looked to see if there were a stopper or something to place the star without it falling into the hole...Unfortunately, I had to precariously perch the star and pray it stays.
