I am a collision tech at work. We have a pulling post that is rated for 1200 pounds. This winch is an 1100 pound capacity, so I thought I would use it for pulling light body damage. I gotta say, I've pulled several things with it, and it works great. You can abuse and misuse anything. treat it right, and it'll work fine.

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PRODUCT. PRODUCT WAS GREAT AT FIRST AFTER ABOUT 4 MONTHS OF USE THE RESPONSE TIME HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE. 8 MONTHS INTO HAVING THE HOIST I HAVE BECOME VERY UPSET WITH ITS PERFROMANCE. WHEN I PUSH THE LIFT BUTTON IT TAKES UP TO 5 SECONDS THE THE REMOTE TO RESPOND AND WHEN RELEASING THE BUTTON IT WILL STILL TRAVEL10-15 INCHES AFTER RELEASING THE BUTTON. OTHE TIMES IM PRESSING THE BUTTTON TO LIFT AND WILL NOT WORK UNTIL IT FEELS LIKE LIFTING. OTHE TIMES UNIT STIOPS COMPLETLY WHILE LIFTING OR LOWERING. CAN BE A HAZARD AND A SAFETY ISSUE DEPENDING ON THE PROJECT YOU ARE WORKING ON.

I needed to ease a 500+ pound jointer down the basement stairs. This winch fit the bill. Having used it, I am fairly certain I can figure out other uses. I like the flexibility in control - there's a cabled remote, a wireless remote and controls on the winch. I used the cabled control as it allowed me to keep well clear of the winch while it was under load.
