Got this because they are so long. The lights came in a box and was a little wrapped up but did not take long to undo them all. Comes with extra bulbs and if you are needing to light up an area they will surely do just that. Being waterproof helps because of hanging them outside. You can use these when you have get togethers if you need to light up an area for a bunch of guest and need to be able to see a good distance out. Here is some info about this set that I wish I had known prior to setting them up. The set itself is similar to other outdoor string lights and the quality is exactly as I expected. The bulbs are a plastic outer casing which makes them better to be used outside them a glass casing would be. In my case I have them under walnut trees which can be very destructive once the walnuts begin to drop! I am not as worried if a walnut hits one of the bulbs when it falls. The strand itself is a single strand of 200 feet. I though from the item description it might be 4 separate 50 ft strands that would make up 200 ft. It is just 1 strand, and what I read was basically saying you could connect up to 4 of these sets together. 200 feet is a lot of length and it was not overly obvious how to begin unwrapping them even though we could find both ends of the cord. In the end, we just found a space to begin laying it out and took our time as it would have been VERY easy to get them tangling when we started. Once we had them untangled, it was relatively easy to set them up. I do want to mention that you will need to check and tighten EVERY single bulb!! I did not discover this until I plugged it in and had mtultiple bulbs that were not lit due to being too loose and needed to be tightened...including 1 that is still too high up to reach currently. Luckily all the others I was able to reach and ended up tightening all the bulbs I was able. I found that almost all of them needed about a 1/4 turn to be tight in their socket. The brightness of this set helps to adequately light my patio and as there are so many lights, I find that this set along gives enough illumination to negate me needing any additional outdoor lights after dark. This set is NOT one that is controlled by a remote control., but I hooked it into a remote receiver and am now able to turn it on and off with the click of a button, but this was an additional item that I bought that does NOT come with it. Overall, I am pleased with the set, but wish it would have been easier to untangle/setup, and that the bulbs had not been so loose on arrival. Also a remote would be nice, but the description tells you that it does not come with one and that is no fault of the manufacturers. I would buy again. ... show more

This light string comes with a 9' cord so the cord can be plugged into a standard height outlet and still be installed 9 to 11 feet above the ground just depending on the height of the outlet. Each bulb is not so bright, but there is a bulb approximately every 2 feet. This throws enough light to turn a dark area of your patio into an aesthetically pleasing lighted area. The male plug has a secret compartment for a spare fuse. These are needed to protect from overload if you intend to plug a number of these cords together. If the entire light string doesn't light up the culprit will probably be a blown fuse. This is a great price value. ... show more

Unfortunately I can't share a picture of how these look in my patio because I haven't figured out the best way to hang them yet. The last set of outdoor lights that I had (different brand) had rubbery 'hoops' on them that we used to attach them to the existing bolts in the screen enclosure. These lights have, what I would describe as, hooks. So these need to be able to 'clip' onto something in order to hand. So I need to get some sort of wires to put around the existing bolts and then either have the lights 'clips' onto the wire or I'll loop the wire around random parts of the wire. I have plugged them in and do like that they are nice and bright and have a bit of a 'retro' or 'Edison' look to them. I also really like that these aren't glass so if I don't get them hung properly and they fall I don't have to worry about my dog or anyone stepping on broken glass. Time will tell if they truly are weatherproof, didn't have luck with my last 'weatherproof' lights but I do have higher hopes for theses. ... show more

Boy oh boy these string lights look so pretty once they are hanging and switched on. I attached a few photos so you can see how nice they look. These lights have dressed up my garden, I am thrilled by how these lights have turned out. These string lights are very long, so you can do a lot with them, you can get creative with how you hang them around your space. One note to be aware of is that from the plug you have around 6-9 feet before you get the first light, I found this very useful, it allowed me to run the cable up behind a cupboard without worrying about a light showing up behind it. These lights come with a couple of extra bulbs for later which is good. The lights have a nice glow of light, they are not super bright but perfect for creating a pretty ambience in your space. ... show more
