I am making a home tiki bar and this thatch is better than expected! The grass and backing are plastic but looks extremely real! It's much more realistic than the flat "cheerleaders pom poms" look I see so often. I was able to secured them with double-stick tape to my tiki roof. Although mine is inside, I would imagine it would hold up well outdoors due to it's synthetic makeup. Some strands will detach during cutting, but other than that they are holding up well without shedding. The backing is 2-ply, and I found it easier to cut from the back, being careful to cut as few strands as possible. I layered it like shingles and it looks beautiful! Very good value!

I bought this so I could craft a realistic hay bale for my fall display and the results were amazing. The synthetic straw was this and shows no bare spots at all. It was easy to fasten to the wood as well because of the blanket like material on the back. All you really need is a staple gun. I highly recommend if your trying to get that tiki bar look!

Good quality, little on the shiney side but not horrible, the backing is pretty fragile and will break apart if your using it for on a folding blind but the part the material is sewed into seems like it will last.

Read reviews on this item and was very skeptical before I bought it. I ended up buying the 50-ft roll cutting it in 10 ft lengths and cable tying them together to make a blanket to go over the roof of my pontoon. Quite honestly I am so happy has stayed mold and mildew proof after being exposed to daily Sun rain during the entire summer and still looks great ! Please refer to the pictures to see how great it really looks !

Sheds a lot! We needed this for an event and didn't want real straw because it gets all over the place. Turns out, this did too! The strands are not attached well and come out easily. Creates a mess of 'straw' everywhere. Gave it 3 Stars because it did look real and performed the job nicely for us, but the shedding was a lot of clean up after.

This artificial Thatch covered the small Tiki roof I made without any issues. Used 1/2 inch staples to secure the thatch to the roof. I purchased a 240 ft and a 120 ft roll to cover around a 12 ft by 2 ft roof that allowed for some overhang. It was very easy to cut with scissors or a utility carpet knife and it blended nicely when adding extra material.
