  • not as big as I expected.
I think this is for making little girl toy teacups as the handles are too small to create regular and large (16 oz and 18/20oz ) cups.

  • Smaller than expected
A fairly new wheel potter having done it only for 1 year now... but found these moulds to be small and not helpful as I had hoped. They are made of a foam and the forms are just hard to keep the clay on to mould and dry enough to use slip to attach to my piece. The forms are all about the same size - was hoping for various sizes for different size bowls/mugs. Found free hand forms to be more easy and useful. ... show more

  • Good Shapes
My wife says: As a hobby potter, handles have always been my nemesis so I thought I would try these handle forms. The listing gives an accurate description of the forms I received. There is a good variety of sizes and shapes (although the set did not include an elongated reverse c which is my favorite shape). Unfortunately the instruction video did not indicate how to attach the handles. This seems to me to be a critical consideration. Depending on the cross section of the handle, just cutting the clay flush with the form may not give a secure attachment. For some of the shapes varying the thickness of the handle (thicker at the ends and thinner in the middle) over the form seemed to work. For other shapes extending the handle to make a vertical tab along the the side of the form that attaches to the cup or off the bottom end seemed to make a better bond. It is going to take some experimentation but I have high hopes for coming up with a scheme to make consistently good handles using these forms. ... show more

  • Too Small For Coffee Mug Handles
While these do work as forms for clay coffee mugs (why I bought them), they are just too small to make actual coffee mugs. Clay shrinks about 20% when fired.

  • Where have these been all my (short) pottery life?
I mainly do slab-built cups but handles have always been my downfall. Extruding, hand-pulling, I could never get them to look "right". These molds are perfect for that! I do wish there were some wider ones but I've been pretty happy with how the ones I've made have turned out after bisque-firing. I'll update with a pic once they're glazed! The forms seem sturdy and wiped clean easily when I used them. I'm looking forward to many more years of mug making with them! ... show more

  • Chunk
These are a bit chunky and clunky. I wonder how it will work molding clay and having to work with the depth without removing clay from the shaping guides.
