I bought this 7" fan to be a dedicated transmission cooler fan. I used a 40 amp relay and a switch to power it. It does a decent but not great job of keeping my trans temp below 175° in the hottest of Texas summer heat. My only disappointment was how large a profile it has. I mounted it to the back of my external cooler and had to really rearrange some things as well as delete my hood latch in order for it to work. After it's all said and done it does what it says but if I need to do the same setup in the future I'll try to find something a bit slimmer with better cfm. ... show more

Its a work in progress at the moment but I put it up in one of our camper vents. I used a 12v reversible motor controller and wired into the 12v lights. This thing will create a noticeable breeze through our 30' camper and its great for pulling out heat. Doing this is significantly cheaper than a drop in vent fan assuming your not afraid to do the work in fabricating your own ... show more
