    • These Are Not As Easy To Put Together As They Say

Likes, nice put together kit, everything is included and the wooden pieces for the Bird houses are slotted and tabbed to fit. Only a little glue might be required to really make sturdy. And the glue was included. My problem was that some of the pieces would not fit. I had to sand down the tabs along the edged in order to get them to fit in the slots. I bought 3 boxes of these birdhouses and wind chime projects because my daughter hosts and her DSP caregiver host a craft get to together each month for her group in the DD community . We always do a test run on any item that the group will be working with and here is where we found that a lot of the Birdhouses are simply not that easy to put together. Out of one box I had 3 that were matched and assembled fairly easily the rest I had to sand many of the tabs to make fit. 2. I could not get to fit and gave up, setting them to the side and they will not be worked with. The Bird Houses are very cute. The Idea is great. I just wished the pieces were made much more exacting and fit. We don't have time to send these back and get more in the hopes that the next batch will be better. So I'm going to be assembling all of the ones I can to make sure that they are workable and then disassembling the pieces so the group can put them back together. At least we found this before the craft day and can mitigate some frustration that would have ensued. This is costing me time and energy. I paid for kits that in the info and on the box says for age 3+ I think most kids are going to really need some help if they get waylaid with the pieces that need to be sanded to fit. I'm glad I bought them, I just wish the wooden pieces were easier to fit. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I got these for my 6-7 year old scouts to build. I was afraid it would be too thin and break easily, but I built one and they're pretty good. Came with 15 kits and each kit had paint, paint brush, stickers, glue, and a house. The paint is great. I painted the whole house different colors on each side as shown in the picture and there was plenty of paint to go around. The brush is flat, which makes it easy to paint a whole surface, but also thin enough that you can paint designs too. The wood is okay quality for the price. It’s a thin wood, but thick enough that I’m confident it won’t break. The stickers are a very nice quality. They are puffy stickers and actually stick and stay on the painted wood. The glue is where I deduct a star. It’s not a strong wood glue. It’s just like an Elmer’s craft glue. That being said, I bought a wood glue, and used it liberally around the edges. After I let it dry 24 hours, I’m completely confident it will hold. ... show more
