My MacBook Pro charger died during a power surge on my last trip, so I needed a replacement. This one promises 118 watts which is actually more than my original 65 watt charger, but figured more power wouldn't hurt. I have a USB meter so I could test the actual output. The charger correctly delivered 5 volts to my portable LED and phone, and 19 volts to my laptop. The highest draw I saw was 88 watts when charging my battery pack at 19.57 volts and 4.5 amps. Everything worked exactly as it should. The build quality feels solid and it comes with a decent length USB-C to USB-C cable. It's not quite as long as the original Apple cable but it's workable. The charger itself looks and functions almost identical to the OEM version. One minor complaint is the excessive packaging. The adapter comes in a bag, inside another bag, with more protective film on the charger itself. Feels wasteful but not a deal breaker. So far it's been working great with my MacBook Pro and charges other USB-C devices perfectly. For the price difference compared to Apple's replacement, this is excellent value. Would definitely recommend if you need a replacement charger and don't want to pay Apple prices.

This USB-C adapter delivers up to 118 watts. We ordered it as a backup charger for our brand new Macbook. When charging the Macbook it performs as well as the original charger. It charges an iPhone 16 from empty to 50% in under half an hour. This charger also performs well when charging the batteries for our drone. And for charging my granddaughter's Chrome Book. What's best about this charger is that it uses the "power delivery" protocol, which simply means it can deliver several different voltages (5v, 9v, 15v, 20v) depending on what the plugged-in device negotiates. It defaults to 5v, so it's safe for dumb devices like a headband light or a pepper grinder, but intelligent devices can request one of the higher voltages and get more power faster. This charger also has the Apple chip that protects Apple devices from overload/short-circuit/overheating.

This is a very high quality MacBook charger. I've been using it with my 2019 16 inch MacBook Pro and it's been working perfectly so far. The charger does not buzz or get too hot. The MacBook charges fast and reports that it detects the charger as a 118W variant in System Report. The charging cable feels super solid. Very sturdy and high quality. The USB C connector feels firm inside of the laptop's USB C port. The price is very competitive: much cheaper than the OEM version! I love this charger but I am a bit puzzled by is the fact that I can't figure out how to swap the prongs on the charger or if that's even something that can be done on this aftermarket charger. It looks like it's removable but appears to be glued in place.

This high speed charger is roughly 1cm larger in height and length, but the same thickness as the branded high speed charger. It looks very similar, no easily noticeable differences. The weight seems a tiny bit lighter on this charger. The charger’s output appears to be slightly less than the branded high speed charger (take a look at my photo of the specs comparison, I am not versed in amps and watts, so this is my interpretation.) Charging my 2024 13" MacBook Pro from 0-50% took about 30 minutes, and to 100% about 1 hour 40 minutes, which is just about equal to the specs for the Apple branded fast charger. Charging a MacBook Air from 72% took a little longer than 40 minutes, which is just a little slower than the branded charger (note that for all batteries, as charging approaches full capacity, charging speed slows considerably, especially if you have your device set to optimize battery charging/longevity). The cable that comes with this charger is stiffer than branded, but does the trick. My only deduction is for the larger size.

I bought the ZHIY 118W USB-C Fast Charger mainly to power my MacBook Pro, which I use with a dual-monitor setup connected through an Imokin dock. With my previous Apple charger, I frequently experienced issues where one of the monitors would randomly disconnect. After eliminating all other potential causes, I suspected the original charger wasn’t delivering sufficient power. Hoping this high-output 118W charger would solve the issue, I gave it a try. Unfortunately, the results were underwhelming. The charging performance did not significantly improve the dual-monitor connectivity issue, which left me somewhat disappointed. However, when plugged directly into my MacBook Pro or other USB-C charging laptops, the charger worked reliably without glitches. Despite being marketed as a fast charger, I didn’t notice a significant boost in charging speed compared to the Apple charger. On a positive note, the build quality is excellent, and the charger’s form factor mirrors that of Apple’s official adapter. It comes with a long USB-C cable, which is very convenient. One of its most user-friendly features is the foldable prongs that tuck neatly into the body, reducing bulk and preventing damage to other items in your bag. It's a great travel companion and works well as a backup or secondary charger when you're away from your usual setup. In summary, while it didn’t resolve the specific power issue for my docked dual-monitor use, it still functions reliably for standard USB-C charging.
