  • Strong
Size: Queen
I ordered 2 of these, a queen and a full. They are very strong and do slip. They have 4 Velcro straps that hold onto the sides. Came in 2 sections then zippers together.

  • Works! No more mattress sagging down through the bed slats.
Size: Queen
This solved my problem, which I think is more the metal bed frame than the mattress. I had a problem with the two bottom corners sinking into the gap at the bottom of the frame. When I sat at the bottom of the bed, I was sinking down too much and found it uncomfortable. This was also the case to some extent, along the sides. The Bunkie Board took care of that problem in no time. I no longer have an unstable edge. Right there, problem solved! This comes as 8 vinyl (or similar) wrapped boards, in two sections of four. You unfold them, zip them into one piece, then lay your mattress on top. There are Velcro straps to attach the board to the bedframe at four places- two on each side. Not at the corners. It's a little bit of a pain because the mattress really has to be 100% off the frame to install, but do-able even alone. I cannot testify that there are actually all the layers they claim inside as I am simply not going to cut through the cover. One thing I can tell you is the photo with the weight in the middle is inaccurate, and frankly, not something you want. I do not feel and do not want any padding on this at all. It defeats the purpose. This provides a firm support to prevent my mattress from sinking into the slats. This was not a problem when we used boxsprings. And I am going back to a standard mattress and box springs next time I buy a bed. Until then, this does solve the problem. I don't know if it's my imagination, but the mattress seems a bit firmer, which I was hoping for. There is a nonslip backing, which I assumed goes towards the mattress. My hybrid mattress weighs 97lbs so that was never going to be a problem anyway. At over $96 when I ordered, this seems a little expensive. If you can get a coupon for $10 or more off, I'd recommend this, especially compared to other boards, as this one actually works, at least for me. ... show more

  • Goldilocks would tell you that this one is JUST RIGHT!
Size: Queen
I was replacing one of those mattresses that have adjustable firmness with air baffles. I got a hybrid mattress which I knew I liked from camping, but I only got the mattress, not the box spring. The old mattress had a hard plastic foundation which I thought I could re-use, but with the mattress on top, it was WAY too high - needed a ladder to get up to it, lol. So we ditched the hard plastic foundation and got a metal bunkie board with metal slats. That was way too low and looked ridiculous in the bed frame. So that was returned and we got a 3" box spring. Right height, but too mushy and not enough support. I was beginning to feel like Goldilocks! Then I saw this Bunkie Board Anti-Sag Heavy Duty folding bed board. One more time, we ripped the bed apart and started all over. We decided to place the bunkie board between the box spring and the mattress. It fit perfectlyl, did not add height to speak of, was nice and firm, and firmed up the mattress. Alas, Goldilocks finally found the one that was just right. Is the price high? Maybe higher than some, but I do not know (and have no desire to find out) if the others perform as well. For me, a good nights' sleep is worth a few extra bucks, and that is exactly what I have now. I no longer sag in the middle, ending up with a back ache when I wake up. It has fixed the problem and I finally love my bed. Do not hestitate.... ... show more

  • Bunkie Board Replaces Box Spring for Foam Mattress Platform Bed
Size: King
We've had a foam mattress on top of a traditional box spring set up for years now. It was like climbing a mountain to get into the platform bed at night. The foam mattress does not require a box spring, but we just kept it anyway. The cats destroyed the underside of the box spring, the wooden slats of the bed frame were defective, and the whole thing was awful. This bunkie board replaced the box spring, and the bed now sits much lower. Will take some getting used to. However, the sleep I had last night on this bunkie board was phenomenal. No sagging, no cats, and a nice night's sleep. Assembly was easy (just unfold and zip the two pieces together), seems sturdy enough when balanced properly on the slats, and quality of the non-slip side is great. Excellent so far, value is great. Should have gotten one of these a long time ago. Note: There are little velcro type straps on the board, but they are too short to wrap around my bed frame anyway. You may be able to use the straps. They don't seem to be a necessary component. ... show more

  • Fixed my sagging mattress without buying a new one
Size: Queen
I was seriously considering spending money on a brand new mattress because mine had developed a noticeable sag. Before pulling the trigger on that, I decided to try this bunkie board first, and I'm glad I did. It made a huge difference right away. The sagging issue I was dealing with is basically gone, and the mattress feels supported and even again. Setup was quick and painless. The board unfolds and slides right under the mattress without any tools or complicated steps. At only 0.4 inches thick, it didn't change the height of my bed or mess with my fitted sheets at all. It just sits there doing its job quietly. At this point I won't ever have a bed without one of these again. It saved me from what would have been a much bigger expense, and the results were immediate. If you're dealing with a sagging mattress and aren't sure whether you need a full replacement, this is worth trying first. It might be all you actually need. ... show more

  • Strong Support for a Better Night’s Sleep
Size: Queen
This bunkie board is exactly what I needed to add extra support under my mattress. The heavy duty 10mm construction feels sturdy and provides a nice firm, even surface that helps eliminate soft spots and gaps between the slats. I really like that it is only 0.4 inches thick, so it does not noticeably change the height of the bed. The non slip underside helps keep it securely in place, and it also helps minimize movement and annoying noises while sleeping. The setup could not be easier. It unfolds quickly and requires no tools or complicated assembly. I also appreciate that it folds flat when I need to store it, making it convenient for an RV, guest room, vacation home, or other space where storage matters. It is designed to support up to 800 pounds and works with a variety of bed frames. The breathable moisture resistant material is another thoughtful feature that adds to its overall durability. For the quality, heavy duty support, and convenience, the amazing price of $96.69 makes this a great value. It has made my mattress feel much more supported and comfortable. I highly recommend! I give this a solid 5 out of 5. ... show more

  • King Size Bunkie Board Adds Support, But the Value Is Still to Be Determined
Size: King
I ordered this king-size bunkie board because my box springs are considerably older than my mattress, and I've recently noticed my mattress beginning to "canoe" in one area. Rather than immediately replacing the box springs, I wanted to see whether adding a solid layer of support might help compensate for the area that seems to be failing. My bed setup requires box springs, so instead of using the bunkie board as a replacement, I placed it directly on top of my existing box springs and then put the mattress on top of it. The board itself was simple enough to position. The difficult part was wrestling my extremely heavy king-size mattress out of the way and then getting it back into place, which obviously isn't the bunkie board's fault. I particularly appreciated the gripper dots on the board. They helped keep it from sliding around while we were maneuvering the mattress back on top. I've only slept on it for a few nights, so I don't think I've used it long enough to fairly say whether it has corrected or significantly improved the sagging area. I can say that my sleep and comfort haven't been negatively affected by adding it, and the mattress feels well supported. I'll need more time to determine whether it makes a noticeable long-term difference in the problem area. My biggest hesitation is the price. This costs about as much as some box springs, and I've also seen comparable bunkie boards at lower price points. That makes the value a little harder for me to judge unless it ultimately extends the useful life of my existing box springs and keeps me from having to replace them. So far, I'm pleased with the construction and especially the non-slip surface, but I consider this an initial review. The real test will be whether the additional support makes a difference in my mattress over time, and I'll update my review once I've had a chance to use it longer. ... show more
