Our tandem kayaks offer space, stability, and comfort — perfect for couples, friends, family outings, or solo trips on the water. Reel Yaks modular kayaks offer versatility, fishing upgrades, and various drive systems for reliability and freedom to do it all. How easy is it to assemble the two-piece kayak? Reel Yaks kayaks are modular hard-shell designs that break down into multiple manageable sections for easier transport and storage. Assembly is tool-free and designed to take only a few minutes once you are familiar with the process. What tools are needed for assembly? No tools are required. Reel Yaks kayaks are designed for tool-free assembly, allowing the sections to be connected quickly before launching. How long does it take to put together? Assembly typically takes only a few minutes once you are familiar with the system, since the modular sections are designed to connect quickly without tools. Does it come with all necessary accessories (stadium seat, rod holder, paddle)? Reel Yaks kayaks come ready to use with essential accessories included. This includes a stadium seat, rod holders, and paddle(s), so you can head straight out on the water without needing extra gear. Will it fit in my car/SUV without roof racks? Yes. Reel Yaks kayaks are modular hard-shell designs that break down into sections that can fit in many sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs, eliminating the need for roof racks or trailers. How much does each section weigh? Each section is designed to be carried by one person. Depending on the model, sections typically weigh between 27 and 51 lbs, making them manageable for solo transport. What are the exact dimensions when disassembled? When disassembled, each section is compact and easy to store. Most modular sections range from approximately 55" to 65" in length, depending on the model. Do the sections come with storage bags? Reel Yaks kayaks do not include storage bags. However, the modular sections are designed to stack neatly or store easily in small spaces like apartments or garages. How stable is it for standing and fishing? Reel Yaks kayaks are designed with wide, stable hulls and flat standing areas, allowing anglers to stand and cast depending on water conditions and load. Can two people use it safely (adult + child)? Some Reel Yaks models are designed for solo or tandem use, allowing two people to paddle together. Examples include the 14ft Raptor and 14ft Raider (Prop Drive) models. How fast does the pedal drive propulsion work? Prop drive systems provide forward and reverse propulsion, making them useful for maneuvering around structures, docks, and fishing areas. Is it suitable for saltwater fishing? Reel Yaks kayaks are made from durable rotomolded polyethylene. This material is resistant to corrosion and suitable for use in saltwater environments. Are there known issues with the rudder system or steering cables? The rudder system is reliable but may require occasional adjustment over time. Simple cable tension adjustments can quickly resolve most steering issues. How durable are the propeller fins and connections? The propeller drive components are built for durability and regular use. However, like most pedal systems, they should be protected from impacts with rocks or obstacles to avoid damage. What's covered under the 2-year coverage? Reel Yaks covers defects for original buyers: hull/deck 2 yrs, pedal drive 1 yr, parts/accessories 90 days. Excludes wear, misuse, accidents, mods, transport damage, and commercial use. • Love this Colorful Kayak!
Style: Fin Drive
First impressions, the quality of this 100% made in the USA Kayak! Everything seems solid and well made. Assembly was fairly straightforward, I had some confusion with the rudder system but I think it will work itself out once I get it off the sawhorses and into to water. It was just hard to pull up. It’s actually 9’9” not 10’ so I don’t need to purchase a permit, that’s a bonus above and beyond the fact that it fits in my car, a 2017 Ford Edge. I selected the Radar because it is wider than the Raptor so it’s more stable, but I don’t think it would fit in a back seat… I had to put my back seats down and put it in the hatchback. The colors are so vibrant, I just love it. Definitely follow manufacturer recommendations and tighten all the screws before use. Delivery was quick, the driver left the box next to my garage door. I was able to move the box into the garage myself. So initial impressions, I’m very happy with my purchase and looking forward to getting my new Kayak on the water!!! 👏🏻🎣🚣♂️😊 ... show more

  • good kayak
Style: Fin Drive
took it out the first time and I tried to use the fin drive and there was a bar in the way the instruction said nothing about removing that bar to fit the fin drives in and I broke the paddle and all I had one side to use this is my first sit on kayak with fin drive and the rudder system didn't work like it's supposed to but i think it was my fault ... show more

  • Check it out good before heading out for the water
Style: Fin Drive
I received the kayak well packaged in cardboard and foam. The instructions were fairly straightforward, after installing the rudder, I noticed that it didn’t respond well when turning the directional control handle. I put it in the truck, & took it to the harbor for a test run. As I expected, the rudder would turn left, but not to the right. Luckily I had the paddle to keep my direction in check. The fin drive works perfectly, & a robust peddle will generate more speed than my previous kayak with a propeller drive. It’s really easy to remove the fin drive, or install it on the water. The locking hubs are pretty stiff, & the fit is really snug. Luckily I have a mechanical background, & before contacting the company I repaired the cable system by removing the control handle, & properly aligning the turning hub, & re installing it. Took 2 or 3 tries to figure out how it worked. The assembly person at the factory made a mistake. It works perfectly fine now, very responsive. The storage on my kayak is great, a large sealed area between the fin drive is large enough for a lot of things, with another one under the seat with a screw on top. Pretty stable, but I’d recommend outriggers for the ocean. I had to tighten a lot of screws even being plastic and being careful, many were 3/4 of a turn loose. Other than that, it’s a pretty good boat with accessory capability. The modular feature is awesome by the way, the latches are stainless steel and really nice. Update- I’ve had the kayak for several months, & it has performed great on several fishing trips in the ocean & lakes. I recommend getting a rubber guard for the front end, the pvc isn’t the toughest material for beaching, especially if you’re landing on a concrete ramp. I’ve upgraded the fin drive with a Bixby electric motor & outriggers for the ocean on calmer days. It’s a great little boat, & puts you in places that bigger boats can’t access. ... show more

  • Very low quality
Style: Fin Drive
Kayak had many issues from the start. The strap that holds the paddle on the side of the kayak broke the first time taking her out. I replaced that with a different paddle holder form yak attack. I've had to reinforce the keel and and stern with gator-guards because the kayak is prone to scratch damage(material seems soft, can scratch with finger naisl). After around the 3rd use I noticed mainly on the stern deep gauges that were almost through the hull. To prevent further damage, I applied gator-guards. It has seemed fine since. The "strap" bungee cord that holes the foot pedals in position broke on the 2nd time taking her out. I improvised a way to keep it secure with thing hanging wire. Around my 10th time taking her out the pedal fin drive system had a single fin break off pretty randomly. I was pedaling in some deeper water and suddenly felt loose. I pulled the drive out of the hull and seen the metal shaft that goes down into the rubber fin snapped off. The only good thing was I caught my personal best Smallie on that day. Overall, the kayak feels very cheap for price tag that's on it. The material the hull is made out of is soft. The handles used to carry the kayak are flimsy and bend when carrying the kayak. The fin drive system is pretty noisy and apparently very cheaply made. The replacement parts are $65, almost like it was designed to fail so you'd have to spend money on fins. I've had to go around and tighten every screw on the kayak because they come lose over time. The rudder frequently gets stuck in the upright position and I have to poke it with the paddle to get it to drop. I reached out to suppose by e-mail and and hoping this can be resolved. I'm pretty unhappy with the money spent on this and would suggest you steer clear. For the price tag on this kayak, the only thing it has going for it is it's modular and breaks into two pieces. The money spent on this could've bought a known name brand kayak of the same price with more features. ... show more

Style: Fin Drive
It goes together easy, the seat is very comfortable, it has nice storage areas, and I love the colors! I took it out on the lake yesterday and didn't want to quit I was having so much fun, and with the pedals and oars you can move right along in the water!

  • My first kayak.
Style: Fin Drive
My wife and I both have SUV’s and wanted the option to just load the kayak in the back without the hastle of getting them on a roof rack or trailer and saving room in our garage. With this being my first kayak I didn’t want to spend a lot and just buy mods for it. We looked Reel Yaks up on YouTube, Reddit, and saw quite a bit of red flags but took a chance on it. The latches that hold your pieces together are durable and safe. Water does not seep up through the middle, it’s basically sealed together. I’m 6’2” and 240lb, I feel very comfortable in this vessel. There’s enough room to stretch my legs, relax, and fish comfortably. The pedals function great albeit not having reverse. You just have to set yourself up to not need it which is easy on the lakes we’ve been on, at least. I’d definitely recommend this kayak for someone with the same needs. ... show more
