  • Perfect replacement for pen springs
I was looking for something comparable to a ballpoint pen spring for use in various 3D-printing projects. The idea was to make gadgets that could be printed to include easily-available items such as the spring from a pen. These are ideal stand-ins for pen springs.

  • Great Job
I just fixed a broken pen. I replaced a bent spring and ta-da! Now it works. I'm keeping these around because I'm a writer. Thank you. Very pleased.

  • Almost perfect for wacky rigged senkos.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, fishermen of all ages, using ballpoint pen springs instead of rubber o-rings for wacky rigging a 5" Senko worm is ideal. The number one reason is that the worm last longer with the spring than using the o-ring. This is due to the o-ring causing the worm to tear far quicker. The second reason is that using a spring sets the hook perpendicular to the worm for a far better hook setting. That's if you're using only one o-ring where it will place the hook parallel to the worm. I know that I crisscrossed two o-rings so that I could place the hook perpendicular to the worm, which worked well. Still, the worms didn't last as long as using a ballpoint pen spring. Now the reason for the four stars and not five stars is only due to the outside diameter (OD) of this particular spring for this particular application. It is 4.5mm OD. As you can tell from the pictures, it's just a bit too big. Not enough of the worm around the outside of the spring. I'm thinking 3.5mm or 3mm outside diameter would be optimal. As you can see, I would take one spring and cut it in half and then screw the cut end of the spring into the worm with the end coming out the other side. There is a good big of bulk on the finished end of the spring. I would advise getting a smaller OD spring and then, if needed, cut the finished end off of the ends. Get the smaller OD springs with enough length so that you can still cut the spring in two after the finished ends are cut off. It makes the spring easier to twist/screw in. Other items in the picture include Yamamoto 5'' Senko Bubble Gum and Gamakatsu's Finesse Wide Gap 2/0 Hook. ... show more

  • perfect
exactly as advertised. I ended up using them to make my own buckling spring keys for the keyboard my friend ian and I are designing ourselves. They seem to be built as well as you'd want a spring to be and in the 2 packs of 100 springs, there aren't any noticeable defects on any either. tldr: they're built well and well priced all things considered. ... show more

  • They are indeed little springs
Little springs that contract and spring open.

  • Who knew this was a thing?
I needed a pen spring for a project and I got 100! I will never need another pen spring again as long as I live. I am living the good life now.

  • Just what I needed
I find a lot of 3D projects required ballpoint pen type springs and am tired of pulling them from working pens. This was the perfect solution and should last me awhile.

  • Great Price
I use these springs for products designed for saltwater use and they hold up without corroding. They have a low spring coefficient and will not deform from maxing out the compression travel.
